Hi folks,

I've just been updating some TX firmwares, and of the three inspire TXs I have, two are of the GL658B variant, and one is the GL658C variant.  I haven;'t ever noticed any difference between them, but does anyone know if there is actually a difference?

Idly curious whilst waiting for a firmware update to finish,

Andy

There are some output differences. But DJI says that once the FW is update to date they are the same.

See Henry's information in this thread. He does an excellent job of explaining the differences down near the bottom.

That's a great little bit of info, thanks for that link.  I'm not sure if the whole TX output power thing will be relevant to a CE zone application (I'm in the UK), but from what I can tell after dredging this forum and a couple of others, there is no other obvious difference.

Hey Andy, its all good.. The CE for Europe is a lower transmission power output due to the rules in your land. I have had all three remotes and the all worked great for me.

DJI has come out and said that each remote on the latest FW would be about the same transmission output... and many have not agreed with this.  For me, I always fly LOS and it does not matter.

I tend not to push the Inspire out more than 500metres too.  For serious distance hunting, the P4 is called in.  Or for even more distance hunting, then the Mini Talon FPV ship comes out, and the GoPro gets duct taped to the front!

Think I'll reassign the "C" variant to be the master on the Inspire Pro, and run the B variant as the camera dudes sticks, just in case there is any truth in the rumours!

I am running the "C" remote as the master right now also. I have a the "B" version set up as my slave remote.  I have switched these around and found no difference in my area

Have a good one!

The different letters represent some minor internal differences but my 3 Tx's have the same range. These findings concur with Rich's

For commercial flights yes.  Recreational flights is Line of Sight.  If I can see it, I can fly it.  and I know for a fact I can see my inspire out past 700 metres....
