At this point, maybe DJI should just program each Mavic with the GPS coordinates of our shipping addresses, and send them on over--toss in a few extra batteries to make the trip across the Pacific Ocean!  :-D

There are different classes of LiPos that have specific requirements depending on size, capacity, lithium content, packaging, etc.  Depending on volume there may be class 9 hazardous material handling involved for air transport that adds additional cost to shipping and becomes prohibitive.  More info can be found here:

DJI Chinese forum update (just now); someone posted: DJI Tmall.com shop sales "confirmed" the first batch will be shipped by the end of 25th OCT (Beijing Time +8).

In case you have no idea what "DJI tmall.com shop" means: on China online retailers' website, some companies will have their own direct-sale shop, not resell by retailers; DJI is having one on tmall.com (i can confirm this) and the sales should be under the same department as DJI pre-sales we contacted.

The post was not providing any evidence and there are a lot of suspicions in Chinese as well. also someone in Chinese forum said if DJI cannot ship today, it will be considered fake advertisement and against law but I have no idea whether it is true in Chinese law system.

Hi DJI, basically all we are asking for is information.  It seems that there's either a disconnect between the corporate core in china and other regions (or translation issues).  Or the conspiracy theorist are right.  Just let us know!  Thanks!

I get product from DJI China all the time.  It does not come via a ship, but via 2 day air.  If you think that we ship via container ship, you may be right for most products but not for the Mavic.  It is coming directly from HQ.

That shows 2,500 packages weighing 19.65 lbs each...  Shipping weight of the Phantom 4 was nearly 10 lbs, while the shipping weight of the Mavic Pro is approximately 4 lbs (7 lbs for the Fly More bundle).  This makes me curious.

rumors about camera recall, remote control recall, GPS module recall....

I believe you Ed but I am hanging on to hope that since I bought through a tier 1 reseller that will be dealing with quantities in the 4 figure range that it would be cost prohibitive to send via air and my precious is sitting in CA outside of one of these cargo containers that has been floating around the forum awaiting it's journey to my reseller and then to my doorway . . . . . let a fella dream a little

Either it's more Inspire v2.0's or Inspire Pro's, or it's some Inspire 2's that they're getting stashed up in the USA ahead of schedule.

I'd guess it's just more Inspires.

Day two of this thread, 26 pages and over 1000 posts. Still nothing in the way of honest information from DJI and increasingly wild speculation & rumors in the posts.

Facts:

1) DJI has been paid in full for all preoders placed directly in their online store
2) DJI has NOT provided any honest and tangible information to date
3) DJIs conduct to date has the potential to incite legal ramifications against them in many jurisdictions.
4) There is NO justifiable reason for DJIs failure to provide tangible information. (Even if there is some sort of legal/trademark or other such dispute, they can at least advise as such even if they are unable to go into implicit detail)5) This is simply not good enough.

As it stands at the moment, how does anyone that has preordered and paid know for sure that they're actually going to receive their product? They don't!

Do you think with the possible imminent announcement of the Inspire 2 DJI suddenly thought, sh%$ all these Mavic orders could be taking away from possible I2 orders. So lets wait until the I2 announcement before shipping the Mavic and see if people want I2 instead.

Certainly a thought but it would be a really misguided one on DJI's part IMO.  These are two different buyer demographics since they are two really different price points.
