I see no mention of the tripod mode any of the brochures or online videos.not sure why they don't mention it because it seems like that would be excellent feature.

I don't think I've seen a vid where it wasn't mentioned. Have a look at the FliteTest review. They do a great speeded up tracking shot using tripod mode. There are several vids showing it getting used indoors, too.

That tripod mode is insane. I'm sure someone said you can take a 8 second expose with it! That is seriously unbelievable

Indeed there is a tripod mode and it's pretty cool for slow flight. It's limits the Mavic to 2.2mph for slow precision flying. Good for close quarter indoor use too.

That leaked version is/was nothing like ready for public release. Much of the content was copied/pasted from the P4 manual. Give it another day or so, it'll be out mithinks

I have the new manual and it does give one word about tripod mode in the appendix under LCD Screen Menu/Intelligent Flight Mode but nowhere in the manual does it explain what it does, how it works etc.

When in the intelligent flight modes, you choose Tripod mode and it limits the aircraft to a max speed of 2.2 mph so you can get really precision video. Also used for close quarters flying.

I'm calling BS for anything sharp enough to be usable. It's hard to do that with my dSLR with a decent breeze on an actual tripod. I know someone said it, I don't believe it for a second.

Thank you.  I wish there was a way to get into the DJI Go app without having a drone.  Would be nice to go through all the features ahead of time.  But, I'm waiting patiently.  How about generating a testing QR code so we can open it up?

That's how all the aircraft are, you need to connect one time then you can get into the camera page.
But even if you connect once, without the aircraft many of the features will not show up in the app unless the aircraft is connected.

this is exactly what I was thinking, Its almost impossible to do a LE shot without a remote at the chance of movement so what chance has it got?

Even people with Phantom 3 and Phantom 4's have gotten awesome photos with several second exposures.
I've done plenty of long exposure shots. This one was several seconds on my old P3.

Ken, no offense, but the quality of that picture is not very good. Does it look good for a flying object having a shutter open for a few seconds? Yep. Would I use that for any sort of serious work? No. Then again, most people are just posting to Facebook or Youtube, which squashes quality anyway.

I am happy that the feature is there. It's great to start to have this option. Maybe my standards, coming from a dSLR, are just too high :shrug:

Well it's never going to be as good as a large format DSLR on a tripod. But your never going to get that from the air! I think that long exposure shot is bloody impressive from a drone!

For a tiny flying aircraft that cost under $1,000 with a very small limited camera, I think it's extremely well.And the Phantom/ Mavic is a hobby aircraft, for professional use you should be using a M600/Ronin-MX and use your high dollar DSLR.
Or at least an Inspire/X5

KEN,  I do not see tripod mode in the Mavic Manual  content,   kind of have read through it,  but still seem to be missing,  see tracking and tap to fly,   am I missing something?

Correct, it is not in the manual.
When you get your aircraft, you will see the options and an explanation of them.

If your going to smile when you see a tracking number, you are going to go bonkers when you open the package and hold the Mavic in your hand It's a work of art.

Every time I hear "TRIPOD MODE" I think of Mini Me in Goldmember...

I honestly believe that the option of being able to fly at very low controlled speeds is way more beneficial than the high speed rating of the drone. That is... until we get the goggles!

Tripod mode will probably one of the most used feature of this drone for me.

I like the idea of doing timelapse panning with the tripod mode.

Is this Tripod mode coming to an inspire anytime soon, or is it a technology feature that will only work on the Mavic. Would be so awesome to be able to do this on the inspire. Perhaps we can manually set this up on the inspire as a custom mode?

If a decent breeze moves your camera/tripod, its not a decent tripod.  Also, sandbags are your friends.

A lot of us Phantom 4 users would really like to have an update that will give the P4 the Tripod mode and other neat features that are now in the Mavic.  I just purchased the P4 and don't want to feel like I will be forced to purchase a Mavic to get those firmware features.

I received my Mavic Pro yesterday, what a great little machine, fun to fly, superb.

I can't seem to find the Tripod mode option anywhere in the DJI Go app when connected to the Mavic. It is not in the manual either. How would I find it?

You are connected to the aircraft (you can arm the motors and control the gimbal) ?
If so, delete the app and reinstall. Also, is your GO app and aircraft firmware on the latest version?

Yes, total control and ready to fly.

Updated yesterday when it first booted up

DJI Go app update did the trick. Thanks!
