Ridiculous question right?! Of course it is important, especially to those of you who are professional aerial photographers. I bet not many really think about what the gimbal does or how it works. In a sense, it is a highly orchestrated ballet of calibration and technology. Certainly, the gimbal is much different then the old boxy cameras that were on tripods.
As gimbals were first developed, they were on two axis and offered limited mobility. Such as the case of the Phantom Vision series. That was updated on the Phantom 2 Vision Plus as a three axis gimbal.
