Not only has my feed gone a bit choppy since .500 I'm also dropping frames on the actual footage from the SD card.

I flew today in a bit of wind and i had a warning pop up regarding the vps had failed. I had to land and calibrate it.

I'm tempted to roll back to .400 and see what happens. Why can't every firmware update work well and cause no issues! Grrrrr.

It's too expensive to be putting up with frame drops, choppy feeds and errors

received my mavic yesterday. Today I flew several times.

not a single fly without loosing image, connection, multiple errors, ect...

It should have been enjoyable as promised by manufacturer specs and reviews.

It even lost signal and image flying just 10m height and 10 away from me.


I'll trie to contact dji and Depending on their reply, I will decide if I should keep it or just return it to store as it doesn't work as it should
and this allows me to disolve legally the purchuase agreement according to spanish laws.


I used it with an iphone 6s plus with 40gb of free memory and dji go 4.  Upgraded mavic soft as the app did requiere too.


in a couple of flights it even lost convection on remote controller and image just upon taking off.


I wonder how quality control works on dji as releasing a product and software versions that give issues to far to many, doesn't seem the best marketing strategy or awareness about what could happened if due to product errors it crashes against property or individuals.

500 worked fine for me. Took quite a lot of shots today and reached 500m height for the first time. Nice view up there. Quite windy though.

issues i believe on .300 and .400 formatting sd cards, or so i am told   .200 formatted sd cards fine,  havent tried formatting on .500 yet

I cannot update my firmware, every time I get an error code of 0x0201003 DJI support said I would have to send it in and I would rather not do that. Anyone else having problems?

Nice to see the better calibrations!  Anyone noticed any other significant changes in the update?

Tried upgrading 6 times now.  Everytime after about 78% (and a break) I get the message "Upgrading failed"....  Now the gimbal isn't working anymore (after 3 flights)....

Is anyone having trouble with the latest firmware update? Every time I try it get to 73% it fails, I get error code 0x0201003. DJI customer support said to send it in but I am sure there has to be a way that I can fix the problem.

Have you tried upgrading using DJI Assistant 2 from a Mac or PC connected with the USB cable? I've upgraded and downgraded using this method and have had no problems.

Impossible for me to connect S mode with the last release !
What can i do ?

i too have had far more success upgrading through the PC and assistant then ever trying to do it through the Go app,  something to watch out for is that both the assistant and the Go app appear to be very rough on the internet connection,  and the USB is pretty flakey too,  dont know why,  but have heard of many who have run a monitor of the net connection saying how it treats it rough and disconnects/interupts are common.  also try a time of the day where you have the most stable and fastest connection, maybe real early in the morning.

Mine too failed at 73% several times and I got the 0x02010003 error code. Tried DJI Assistent 2 on my computer and it worked fine, both the drone and the RC.

Try updating by turning off all wifi in your home and just use your cellular connection on your cell phone. There is a thread on this forum that explains that the OcuSync will cause interference with wifi. Maybe that is your issue. I'm far from an expert but It's worth a shot.

That is not an error or Firmware issue, the flight computer initializes the height variable to 0 before takeoff.
Always remember ... The initialization of FC variables with the sensor measurements are relative to the take-off point

Please dont forget. I made the observation (also confirmed in other forums) that the stock, flat USB cables are Not the best.

Since exchanging to a proper one (big connector) there have been 0 App Connection losses.

Good point,   USB cables and their connections and the USB ports on devices in general are pretty poor,  and added to the flakey USB signals/ software/ harware connections from the mavic and TX and it can get hit or miss.

Finally got around to updating to .500 today and it went in (through the controller) without a burp!  It was a fast update compared to .400 - it took about 15 minutes total time.

We are expecting a Monster Storm tomorrow, so flying this update will take a day or two.

i received my mavic pro today.
I connected everything and start the app.

Then i saw there is a new update .500.
So i installed it.

Now i can get a Connection to my Samsung A3 Device.
The App say it is still "Disconnected".

So i made a Downgrade to .400 and this is working.

Maybe there is a Issue at the .500 Firmware.

I'm also getting choppy/laggy video since .500 update.  Anyone downgrade back to .400? Also I've only had my mavic for a day.  Do you guys calibrate compass and IMU after every update?

I have now done a lot of flights (with both DJI Go4 and Litchi but avoiding the modes with the known bugs) with my .500 upgrade and no issues.  The reason I mention this it's easy to get the impression each update is terrible based on all the reports here. I have been a software developer for almost four decades and frequently get reports of issues that are noticed when I send out new software that are noticed at the time of the release but not related to the software.    This may (or may not) be playing a role in some of the reports here.  Firmware for the Mavic is particularly tricky because not only the Mavic is involved but also the RC and  the phone/tablet.  I suspect it's hard for DJI to test out all the permutations.  That said, they generally do a pretty good job and things are getting progressively better overall with the updates.

I am unable to update the firmware on my Mavic as well. I've tried using the iOS route, as well as using Assistant on my Mac. Each time it fails at 68%. I've tried resetting to factory, but that fails too. If it helps any, here's a section of the log that shows the fail:

Hi, Can anyone help?!

I have created a custom stick mode and for some reason when I move the stick left the mavic moves right and vice versa. I have tried reversing the stick mode but this doesn't help. I have updated to the latest firmware and this is the first time I have tried to fly the mavic as I purchased the drone on 12/03/17.

Known issue or should I return the drone?!

Yes, right! I just wrongly assumed that the new functionality involved and required an FW update. My mistake!

Updated to 500... all works okay BUT as always DJI have some not good suprise for us. I have a lot of noise even at lower iso 100 when using D-log. Dear DJI please fix it

Can  you post some before and after photos at the same ISO and lighting conditions?  I would be a bit surprised if a firmware update could have this effect.

Not at all sure about your last sentance !   i wish it was getting better, over the last two years i see it getting worse.  not sure when DJI will realise that flying machines mixed with ipads, android tablets and phones was a really bad idea,  in this day and age its expected that the screen is integrated,  wires and connectors hanging out the side of screens is 5 years out of date,   its really about time that the CPU set is running a dedicated program,  looking after tx and screen as one job.  from this point on Firmware wold be a relative breeze and save themselves thousands of pounds in unhappy customers,  you only have to read these threads to see what a mess it is.
