Just wondering when will dji realease the new firmware 1.7.8??
as many standard owners is waiting on.SO COME ON DJI HOW LONG TIME TO RELEASE??

When it's right. I don't understand when people push for half-baked software updates. Those people are usually the first to complain when something isn't right.

"When it's right"?  Are you sure you are willing to wait that long?  Rarely, is software "right".  Almost all software has bugs.  I'm new to this sport, but based on a LOT of research, DJI does not do the firmware/software that well.

My app (software) and the AC FW work great on my P3S. So I guess I don't agree.

Because your software/firmware is working well right now does not mean that there are not bugs in the software.  The fact that it seems to work with very few Android devices would be proof as far as I'm concerned.

As I have posted elsewhere, my current software (as well as Litchi) and my current firmware does not work with my Samsung Tab A.  These tablets, as well as tablets such as the Nvidia Shield have worked well in the past.  Something has changed in the software/firmware.  Maybe its as simple as the requirements have grown beyond the processor in these devices.

I have seen very few companies that specify devices like DJI does.  Most will tell you what version of the operating system is required with possibly a processor speed and/or RAM requirements.

I'm working well right now with an iPhone 6, but the screen is too small to be practical.

1.6.8 on the P3S. Now I do live in a FCC area, as it seems those in a CE area are having more issues with the latest FW.

Agree with most of what you said, but would add that I don't think their app works with few Android devices. I actually read many posts that state that this device or that device works just fine even though it's not on the approved list. That's what I think you're meaning, that the approved list is not that long and is the main reason I use one that's posted on a different forum. http://www.phantomhelp.com/Tips/18/best-tabletsphones-for-dji-go

It might depend on the fact that FCC allow for more power output, hence any lack of signal issue could be partially balanced by that.

I really feel that the tablet requirements are light.
Mine is a real cheapie
<$50 new last month.
1GB ram - 16GB storage.
1280x800 display (I think full 720 is mandatory now, not down converted)

DJI probably has not tested their software with the numerous android devices that are still in use. So, they play it safe by not recommending them. My 1st generation Nexus 7 32gig running 5.1.1 doesn't work with 3.0.0 yet works fine with 2.9.1 and earlier versions.
