While I wait for my Mavic to arrive I thought I'd design a sunshade for my iphone 6, but then decided to also combine it with a monocular FPV 'goggle'.
seems to work very nicely.
It's possible it might need modified when I finally get my Mavic, but I've designed it to leave all the areas free that the controller rests on, so should be ok.
So, now I've received my MAVIC - here's an update showing my MAVIC FPV goggle invention being used!
It works awesomely well for taking high precision cinematic video.
benefits over 'cardboard' type solutions:
1. they only work if the sofware supports it (i.e. can't use DJI go - must use Litchi)
2. you get only a fraction of screen pixels (since splitting screen between eyes even though no 3d so no benefit) with those solutions
3. you get quick access to phone whenever you need it here
4. can swap between direct view and FPV view in fraction of a second here
5. you can keep line of sight view with free eye, staying legal in countries where the law requires direct line of sight (e.g. permits FPV only when an observer is present) here
