You Crazy Steven! Flightaware is indeed a good way to track it seems, i only used it to plan my Flights in Flight Simulators like this, but you gave me an idea to track stuff with it too!

How are you deriving the flight number from your tracking number? Thanks in advance.

It is fairly simple.  So, I knew that Chek Lap Kok is the Hong Kong airport.

From there, I did a search of that entire airport on Flight Aware (I believe this link will work: http://flightaware.com/live/airp ... rturetime;sort=DESC)

Then, I happened to know that the FedEx tracker shows the exact same time as the official takeoff, so it was easy to scroll through the list to look for a 9:59 PM flight on FDX (FedEx callsign).  And, the fact that the destination is the US tipped me off to the fact that I found the correct flight.

Gotcha. I've used Flightaware and similar (you probably know about marinetraffic.com) for lots of stuff. Kudos for your deductive reasoning but I was hoping you had figured out some way to get the flight number from the tracking number or some other info source from FedEx. Thanks for answering!

mine is on the flt,   will head north when it stops in California,  FedEx has a hub there,   it said mine would be delivered before 10 am on the 26th  so guess it time to start counting down the hours,   happy droning

Mine is also in the air right now. Via Dubai then Germany then onto east mids. Delivery on the 26th!! Wooo

Thanks for posting this.  I was wondering if there was something like this out there.
PS, note that the pilot has it turned up a notch (cruising at 538 knts as opposed to the planned 502)

Back when the mini cooper first came out I ordered one.  It took 6 months to build/deliver.  What was cool is (at the time anyway) bmw/mini had this cool tracking app that told you where the car was along it's journey.  They showed when it was actually on the line being built and then when it shipped it showed the ship's name and linked in a realtime tracker.  I remember when it landed in NY and sat in customs for 2 weeks.  The excitement when it got on a truck to be delivered to the dealer was unbearable.  This comes close...

That can backfire too.  I watched my BMW motorcycle arrive in the US, clear customs and then get "lost" in a BMW warehouse for six weeks.

Sorry for highjack but I was curious. With strict LiPo battery restrictions, how are drones getting shipped with FEDEX? I have one on order at Aliexpress and it is also getting shipped via FEDEX but guy says shipping batteries with FEDEX might be an issue? Enjoy your Mavic Steven.

I have no idea - but, mine is now in my city without any import issues / LiPo flight delays.

Welp. I'm shocked. Fedex is actually delivering mine today instead of tomorrow!
