I was able to get a refund after opening a dispute on Paypal. That being said, it took some back and forth over 3 days . Here's the play by play, just to give you an idea of the misinformation (or at a minimum ignorance) coming from their CS department:
Day 1: I open dispute with Paypal
Day 2 am (DJI): E-mail directly from DJI indicating my order is in the process of being cancelled and refunded. My order is moved out of the shipping queue into the "Payment review" queue (whatever the state is when you are still paying)
Day 2 am (DJI): Response to Paypal dispute from DJI, asking me to close my dispute, stating that they couldn't refund my money until the dispute was closed.
Day 2 am (Me): I call to confirm with a Paypal rep that this is NOT standard procedure and that I should not close my dispute if the matter hasn't been settled. Paypal agent confirms.
Day 2 am (Me): I add a comment to my dispute calling BS and including the information I received from Paypal. I threaten to post details to the DJI forum and follow up with the US FTC is my money is not refunded within 24 hours.
Day 3 am (Paypal): Seller has issued a refund. Dispute closed. |
