Hello guys,
a few minutes ago, i have updated my Dji Go Android App to the version 3.0.1 (524) on Play Store!
Now we have 4K Option (S7 Edge) and the storage can be selected to the SD card. I have tested it with a little footage and it works great!

Very good news after a long time of waiting!

awe snap! I didn't think it would happen.  Thanks for the update, trying it out now.  If this works out I think the Mavic is back on my Christmas wish list!

I can confirm 4K on Samsung S7 (no Edge).
I lost the 4K option after playing with the settings but with the "Reset" option under camera settings it came back.
External SD card path must set to root directory .. not ../DJI, not ../DJI/Camera.
First "quick and dirty" testing looks fine.

Hello Markus,

I just updated the DJI GO APP to v3.0.1 (526), on my S7 edge Android 6.0.1. After 80-90 seconds of recording FHD: 1920×1080 / 25, the DJI GO crashes and my S7 edge reboots again.
Which Android version are you running 6.0? Or 6.0.1? Or 7?

No, Facebook doesn't allow us, they insist you have to use their own app for streaming

Hi Thor,

well I tried 3-4 times in a row yesterday... it happend always. Tonight I will try again!
Also I noticed that my Video streaming P4 --> RC--> S7 is not working correctly when I use the standard DJI instructions for startup:
1.Connect Phone with RC via USB
2. Switch on RC ( my DJI GO app starts automatically few seconds later)
3. Switch on P4
4. On my S7 i get a the standard start screen, but no Camerva View... kind of black view.
5. After I wait "Warming up" process... It tells me that the RC needs the last Firmware version (not true because I already have RC Firmware 1.8.0)...
6. Also I get "Desirialzer disconnect" error.

I get the correct view (no errors) when I do this:
1. I leave the P4 and RC ON
2. EXIT DJI GO
3. Disconnect the USB RC from my S7 edge
4. Start DJI GO app agein on my S7 edge (NOT CONNECT TO RC YET)
5. Connect my S7 EDGE to RC with the DJI GO app running.
6. I get the normal screen with camera view and no errors! (Deserializer fixed instantly and NO ERRORS! )

I do believe also this Firmware mismatch/not recognizing and Deserialzier bug is more a Software issue then a Hardware! Because if I follow a different workflow... DJI GO app recognizes that my RC has the latest Firmware, and also the Deserializer error is not popping up.

I dodn't close the background apps... I didn't notice any temperature increase...
Closing the apps shouldn't be a requirement... in August 2016 (do not remember which DJI GO app version I had) my S7 edge was working AMAZINGLY!

I will check again later...

Hi,

I just tested again!
S7 edge, Android 6.01, DJI GO App 3.0.1 (526) (S7 edge fast charging disabled this time)

1st TEST
Standard DJI start procedure
: RC--> DJI GO App starts, then --> I switch on P4 --> Camera connects and I see the correct camer view on DJI GO (on S7 screen)
  • Let the P4 run on for a few minutes in Photo mode : NO ISSUES!
  • Swicthed to Video mode for 4-5 minutes with 1080p/50 PAL (not recording) : NO ISSUES. (Firmware issues disappeared, everything good)
  • Started recording video and after 20 seconds DJI crashed and S7 rebooted.

2nd TEST:
Standard DJI start procedure:
RC--> DJI GO App starts, then --> I switch on P4 --> Camera connects and I see the correct camer view on DJI GO (on S7 screen)
  • Let the P4 run on for a few minutes in Photo mode : NO ISSUES!
  • Switched to Video in 4k Mode... --> DJI APP crashed immediately and S7 rebooted.

While I was writing this, I let the P4 on (Propellers not running) in Video mode 1080P/50 PAL for about 15 minutes... and the DJI GO crashed and S7 reboted again! (sometimes crashed also after 6-7 minutes)
As soon as I either :
  • Start the propellers (TAKE OFF)
  • Record a video
  • Switch to 4k Video mode..
The DJI GO cashes and the S7 reboots again. (in avarage fter 20-30 secs, sometimes after 80-90  secs).

I do believe there is an issue with the Video recording and transmitting, on some Android devices.. could you confirm that! I hope this tests can help to improve the DJI GO App...
I do believe it because last week (22nd Oct 2016) I tested the iPhone 6 with the latest DJI GO app for iPhones, and I couldn't see anything on the DJI GO app.. kind of black screen, even in Photo mode, (which is the standard mode DJI GO is set as soon as it starts). On iPhone, DJI GO it didn't crash, but I only had the phone connected for about 1 minute... then I switched to another friends device.

Looking forward for some good news....

Hello Thor

I have close all background app, disable fast charging and disable local recording, but my phone always restart and become extremly hot. RAM usage always 98%.

Change image transmission setting to lower i have 10 minute flight without phone restart but it still hot. Second flight my phone restart 5 second after takeoff and i can't find image transmission setting. There is no auto and custom choice.
