Hey guys, this is a question to the ones who have recived their Mavics....does your battery have slight ripples/bumps/dents on it? I was inspecting the flying mechine when I got it and noticed some ripples on the surface of the battery. I don't think it's problem with the cells...probably rushed manufacturing. ::shrugs:: just thought to ask.

The battery page will give you all the cell info and the history page will tell you if there are any errors.

Yeah, mine's got "waves" in it too.  Only really noticeable in certain lighting.  Looks like just a mold problem for the outer shell.

The plastic shell does not effect the batteries performance.  I just checked mine and did not notice any ripples.

They're very minor. Thing flies fine. it's just cosmetic i suppose.

I would be worried about bad cells that have expanded.

did a check in the systems. nothing is reporting as damaged. ::shrugs::

Maybe they are pulling those housings out of the mold to quickly to keep up production

It's a $1000 drone, not a Bugatti...

It does look like a discoloration in the picture, I would definitely say it is a minor manufacturing defect.

It does look like a cosmetic blemish. I would not worry about it. If the battery history gave you any kind of error, then I would send it in for exchange.You can call customer support if you like. 818-235-0789

That's absolutely not cells, they may have multiple moulds and one is not 100 perfect.

It's cosmetic and I would not at all worry.

Thanks all. I'm not too worried. Wanted to see if it was a common thing currently. good to hear and see that mine isn't the only one like this.

To some ppl $1000 is a lot off money, but in the drone market DJI are Bugatti, so quality is just as important to some.

Those are just injection mold imperfections in the plastic housing.  The cells inside are fine.
