no one has a clue. all speculating lol. One thing that sounds promising is the "get it by oct 30th" status. i dont think BB would note that, and end up delivering a week later.

I think you're wrong but time will tell. I don't think DJI is going to tell its approved retailers that they will get them once DJI has no more pending orders....

Has anyone actually asked DJI about this directly? I can't get chat to connect or I would do it myself. People have differing stories from Best Buy reps. Could someone just ask DJI,  "Hey, have you sent an order to Best Buy yet?"

I called Best Buy's Customer Service line this morning at 930am EST (1-888-237-8289) and spoke to a representative named "Julie" who said according to all things she could see on her end my drone should be delivered by November 1st (as the website order status indicates). According to this representative, the date of delivery wouldn't have been specified if they did not already have the product en route to their online distribution center. Furthermore, if you go to place an order on BB website right now, it says "Shipping is unavailable for this item". According to the representative, it is likely that all delivery orders have been taken at this point and that I should expect the drone delivered no later than this Tuesday November 1st. Bring on all the haters comments!

yup. they wouldnt put up a delivery date otherwise. people just need to chill.... its only few days away.

Funny that both of my orders will probably arrive on the same day when they were ordered a month apart.

The bigger question now is how do we get extra batteries, how long until they're actually stocked?

I just spoke to a BB rep. I asked her what does "processing" mean. She said: "Processing means that we acknowledge the item in our inventory."

One more thing. Since my order stated that I will receive the item on or before Sunday the 30th, I called them back and asked what carrier is being used and was told it would ship via UPS. With that said, I don't think it will arrive until Monday the 31st since UPS does not deliver on Sunday.

I have a fly more combo on order (9/29 to deliver ??). I also have an online order with Best Buy for the standard package (Ordered 10/25 to deliver 10/31). I just left my local Best Buy store who said they will have stock in the store available to purchase this Sunday (10/30). They could / would not tell me what quality they expect to have. I may just have to go check out Best Buy Sunday morning!!

Just an FYI, for all those people trying to return the Drone back to bestbuy  (opened/unopened) if their other orders get processed, Bestbuy is unable to re-sell the returned drones. They will go directly back to the manufacturer. Which is why you are unable to find a returned or "Open-Box" Drone at BestBuy....which sucks..:/

LOL, you honestly think DJI set up their sales forecast to manufacture a new drone without a committed purchase quantity from third parties?  You honestly think individual direct sales are what they are dependent on?  You have no concept of retail sales and products that are manufactured.

Bestbuy and Apple absolutely had first dibs before they even announced a release date to the public.  Who do you think helps them market the drone?  They don't have the marketing budget to do it on their own, that is why third parties push it so hard.  

Now I'm not saying I will get mine from BB before the rest of the direct pre-orders as I'm sure there is a hard date third parties have to adhere to, but I am 100% sure that the big box retailers have already cleared spots and done the marketing to promote this product, and they WILL get it when it is promised.  THAT is why the direct orders were held up for a week.

not if they are re-turning a pre-order.
IF they buy it and bring it to a physical store.... then yes.. it will get shipped back.

I would assume if people are returning a pre-order it would take around 4 hours to go back available in inventory.

Asked a family member that works at BB and he didn't see any 'in stock' or 'on order' for their store (northern Virginia). Not sure if they are late to arrive or not coming at all to stores for Sunday pickup. My online order still has it arriving by Nov 1st, only time will tell.

The store's will not show any instock until Sunday (or Saturday), since the store's stock is reflected online when you choose "Pick-up from Store", and these items come in at the very last minute so that they do not inadvertently get sold prior to release date, as this item has high demand. This has happened to the GoPro Karma drone as well, where the drone is released, but stores do not have them in stock yet, and many stores (near my area that is) still show "0" in stock.

Correct.   Best Buy practices JIT (Just in Time) stocking if I'm not mistaken.   The units will arrive at stores just before being available.

I didn't have the option to pick up from store yet. I tried, even called, they said we're not allowed to choose in-store pickup on pre-orders. I dunno.

When I completed my order and got a Oct 31st delivery date it said free 2 day shipping, so I am not expecting to see a tracking number until sometime on the 29th.

The shipping time, honestly, it's anyone's guess. It could be delayed as well, so we might not all get the "Nov.1" or "Oct 31" date. But we might get it. Typically for every other pre-order that I have done through bestbuy (items over $500), only 1 has been delayed, and that too was a highly sought after product. So, personally, as long as the Drone BEFORE next weekend, I'll be happy.

Someone somewhere posted that they will be officially arrived on the 30th and sent out immediately for deliveries on the 31st and 1st. I have no idea if that was actually true, but I know I came across it... for what it's worth...(0)

I have to time my order very carefully because I really don't want the hassle of having two Mavics on my card and having to return one.    Therefore I have to decide at what point I want to cancel the BB order if it hasn't shipped and just stick with my Drone World/Amazon order instead.

Timing is the key and the lack of information is maddening.

You can't choose pick up from store, as that inventory is different then pre-order inventory, especially with this high priced item. Stores have their own inventory, and then bestbuy online has its own. Once the product is released, THEN and only then will it allow you to "pick up from store"

Yes, this very well could be true, as this will mean that you'll have the product AFTER its released. Bestbuy has this set up with DJI to not sell before release date. So, product gets delivered to warehouse by Oct 29, ships same day or on Oct 30. Very well could be the case.

My Amazon order says Dec 1st (used to say Nov 15th) so I think I'm safe and have some time before Amazon charges my card.

Would love to see best buy come through and deliver the mavic by 10/31-11/1 who ordered in the last couple of days, but just not sure it will occur.

I ordered on the 28th of September through Drone World on Amazon and my shipment says Nov 1 - 16th.  

The date you have depends on when you ordered.   Also I contacted Drone World and they expect their stock to arrive sometime next week.

It means that BB will get them, and explains why the demand issue is a problem for those that ordered directly from DJI. It confirms everything, and gets rid of all the speculation around why individual orders have been delayed. I wouldn't call that nothing.
