As a person who canceled an order placed at DJI's store, I can tell you first hand that this article is inaccurate, at least as far as cancelling goes.  I didn't use their chat system, I emailed as per their instructions.  My cancellation was done rather quickly considering the timezone difference (I likely sent my email while they were sleeping).  Also, I didn't pay a $50 currency exchange fee.

The fact that the article has all of these details wrong makes me wonder about the accuracy of the rest of the article.

Now that the rumors are being legitimized by a reputable media outlet -- I'm officially steamed about this.   I think it's time for an American company to start competing in some way with DJI.   Competition is the only way things will change.

I shutter to think about the condition of these 24/7 production facilities over there right now.    Like something out of 1870s America, only maybe worse.

Just got off the phone with BestBuy, and the news is not good at this point. The online rep said that they have NOT received any Mavics from DJI yet. Nothing is in inventory to ship out yet. Certainly take it with a grain of salt, but that is the info I just got prior to posting this.

All you have to do is look at the evidence:   a scarce FRACTION of the orders have been shipped.   NO communications have gone out.   Best Buy doesn't even know when they are arriving.   

When you start putting this evidence together it builds a case.   This case is getting stronger every day.   They pushed this release day up knowing it was a load of garbage, and they did it at the expense of customers to undercut their competitor.   

A B&H customer just posted this in a different thread:

"We are sorry to inform you that the DJI items are on back order by the manufacturer with no estimated time of delivery. As soon as we receive it from the manufacturer, we will promptly ship them to you and you will receive an email with a tracking number at that time. We apologize for this delay and for any inconvenience."

I would be shocked if this isn't the case for Best Buy as well.    They (DJI) never thought for a second they would deliver on these dates.    Preparing for a Best Buy delay/backorder email now.... it' coming.

As I said before -- I almost hope that it does come so I can ditch this Bestbuy preorder and just go back to my original one.

Just kidding. No change in my order status. There's no way my order will arrive "on or before Oct 30th" as stated. My bet is early December.

there will be mass cancellation this weekend, if best buy end up not shipping as well. Everyone already push delivery date back, and BB is the only one left.
