I ordered from Best Buy on October 17th and my order is showing preparing with a delivery of December 5th. Ironically, I got impatient and ordered a Fly More Combo from Newegg on Black Friday and I've got a shipment/tracking info that it's left China and will also arrive on December 5th. Doh!

Yes, Dec. 5th. UPS doesn't have an est. delivery date yet. It's waiting to be picked up.

My order status just changed:
No change in the estimated shipping date (still Dec 21st)
No change in Order Status (still Backordered > Preparing)

The only change?  The green dot on 'Preparing' on the order status timeline changed from green to yellow.  With no other data driving the color change.  Or an explanation of what the color change means.

Whoever architected this status screen (and the logic behind it) is a professional clown.

They might be changing status for all orders as soon as they get stock in and start charging people for the product (from Preparing > Shipping) and when they run out, they'll go back to being backordered. If I'm going to guess, this flip flop will happen alot until they get to your order in line..hopefully, if we can make an assumption, that Oct 24 orders have started shipping and they are slated to arrive by Dec 5, then from that, lets Oct 25 orders will arrive Dec 12iish, and then Oct 26 will arrive Dec 19iish?...maybe I'm just being optimistic...

Any updates? How's the drone working? Are you having any issues?

I've had several flights and so far no issues at all. Pictures and video have been better than expected, flight times on a battery are about 24 minutes. Flew in 11mph wind with no problem. So far so good.

On facebook, I just saw a BestBuy post, advertising the Mavic, with TWO DAY SHIPPING.
Do they even have them to ship? If so, how is that possible, when everyone is waiting for orders purchased TWO MONTHS AGO?

I think they mean two day shipping once they have the item in stock to ship.

A family member at Best Buy in Virginia said his boss got his Macic already...and lost it, fly away. Sounds like at least a few shipments are coming in.

So did you get your Mavic yet?

Good deal, glad you are getting yours.  Ordered 10/3 and still waiting for any action on mine.  I opened a complaint that multiple orders up to 3 weeks after mine (such as yours) have shipped while mine sits in backordered status.  Shortly after that mine switched from Backordered to Preparing.  I have my fingers crossed that mine will ship soon.  Enjoy and safe flying.

Ordered 10/25 and status has been placed in preparing with "get it by" stating weds Dec 7. They charged my credit card and sent my a shutterfly/$25 BB code to my email early this morning. Until this happened earlier this morning, it had flipped back and forth to backorder and preparing. Looks like they may actually ship it soon, but I doubt I'll see it by tomorrow.

Mavic status changed to shipping and I have my UPS tracking number.

I ordered embarrassingly late (Nov 11th).  I went from a shipping estimate of Dec 21, to a new receive date of Dec 14, to shipping as of today (8th) all in the span of 3 days.

Now the slide starts: speculative orders will be cancelled.  Supply will quickly right-size with demand.  Speculators will be out and looking for the next hot thing.  Ebay prices will drop like a stone.

Just received my Mavic from BB. Ordered Oct 25th. Currently sitting here updating firmware and get an email from DJI saying my battery & props have shipped for delivery on Monday the 12th......Finally. Ordered those on Oct. 26th.

Ordered from Best Buy 11/18, delivered 12/8.

Mavic4Me, mine changed to the 14th now also...still stuck in CA.

Received my Mavic Last night. Haven't flown it yet. Truly portable device. Hope everyone gets their's soon! Might fly it today in Tripod mode to get a hang of it.

Amazon, LLC is not even an authorized dealer. I wonder if DJI just hasn't updated their authorized dealers page.

I don't see any new post lately. Looks like everyone is enjoying their Mavic from BestBuy! Happy flying everyone and have a wonderful holiday!
