only had cash on me at the time didn't wanna use cc and the only way was to order online , so i bought gift card.
the  guy said bb wont be selling in store till sunday.

People we are all here speculating the shipment of the Mavic pro, as to I believe they are in production and the ones that are coming in from the manufacturing are being shipped so they won't get overwhelmed with the shipping cargo... But I believe we won't see a massive amount of shipment starting from October 31 to the 1st of November people.. Even if they are manufacturing them now there are people behind in putting the parts together that takes time. Depending on the amount of orders and double orders that some people are doing, Its going to take some time they are going to be up to the demand of the product.

Nothing to do with a "bait and switch". When apple releases a phone, they provide product for apple, and vendors for launch day. Just as Amazon, Apple and other vendors have for this drone. DJI isn't going to eat up all it's production for crying dji fans who want to be first just because they bought direct.  There is an allotment for each vendor. When those first shipments get bought they will create new shipment to the next folks in line. This isn't some magic formula..... if you bought right away from xyz vendor, you will get yours in the order placed. People just seemingly overlooked Best Buy for a long time which is silly stupid since they are the largest electronic dealer of dji products next to dji. Not apple.

Everyone should get an initial allotment of stock. Everyone officially selling the drone has a set amount of drones to sell. They knew this before production began of how many they would receive. Those retailers are basing availability on those numbers. No retailer would willingly put a false date up. It's illegal.

Since bb show it is sold out, that means my pre-order to arrive at 30 Oct will be a genuine one..

BB now shows the Mavic with the same available shipping date as it did before, Nov 1st or Oct 31 with 2 day shipping. This either means that date might not be accurate or some people that had multiple orders cancelled their BB ones and more are able to be resold.

Now it's back to sold out again. I think that people canceling their backup orders on BB makes sense. Might be the the fly more combos are actually being shipped now from DJI and tracking numbers are going out to them so the occasional cancelation is that stock being released.

Just ordered from bestbuy.com 30mins ago. Went from being "Sold Out" to now allowing me to order. As per the bestbuy  "Get It By" Date is an estimate given that the Stores will release the Drone on Sunday October 30. There might/could be delays as we know DJI had delays of their own. I have a close friend employed by bestbuy to which this is the response regarding the Order Status. If his store gets one in, I'll cancel my online order and purchase in store.

Mine order is still showing "Get it by Oct. 31" - here's to hoping!

I have my doubts that everyone who ordered online will get it on the 30th. Any chance that brick and mortar stores could get units in which aren't reserved for in-store pickups?

They are still promising Oct 31st/Nov 1st.    My guess is that if they actually make those dates your order will have already shipped by the time his store stock comes in.

Hopefully we'll see some orders moving to preparing or shipped before Tomorrow night. It's worse waiting when you have hope. It's easier with no hope at all. Help us bestbuy you're our only hope.

I cannot say much of the Inventory that shows online (Get by, ships on etc), but my friend is checking the stores in my area to see if they've received any, and giving me updates daily. But, if inventory appears in a store, I'm def cancelling my online order (if it hasnt shipped) and going to that store to pick it up.

Stores will get units in, but as soon as the online "Pre-Order" button changes to "Add to Cart", you are then able to pick up from store of your choice, they will be sold out. Also, knowing how badly this drone is wanted, people will be waiting in morning of to pick up from brick and mortar stores.

When you go to order the drone online on bestbuy.com, it says the item will be released on 10/30. This doesn't necessarily mean that bestbuy will have them in stock, because the GoPro Karma was "released" on 10/23, but not all bestbuy stores have them in stock. The released date just means the date when the product status changes from "Pre-Order" to "Add To Cart". No guarantee that ALL stores will stock them.

10/30, the "release date". But you still cannot pick it up until Nov 1/2 as that is the "official" date when the stores are allowed to sell them.

Possibly, YES.
DJI claims that all direct pre-orders have been fulfilled. So, their next obligation would be to the retailers that took pre-orders, BEFORE fulfilling more non-pre-order units direct from DJI. I believe DJI is doing exactly what they should be doing, given high demand on a new product that is behind on manufacturing.

So the orders that are 'receive by 31' should actually start shipping within the next 48 hours, correct?

Where are you getting DJI's supposed claim that the have fulfilled all direct pre-orders?  I can guarantee you that they have not, as I ordered on release date (9/27 at 18:00 UTC) and my order still has not shipped.

yes that's what the guy said but i think he was mistaking. I think that's when they would be accepting cash at that time instead of cc or gift card.

BestBuy has no idea when DJI will ship the drones to them.  BestBuy is lying.

You guys on here better be carful about ordering from multiple sites, you may end up with more mavics than you can handle.

Well I'm doing it in a very controlled way.    I have one from Amazon through Drone World.   I have one additional now through Best Buy.   If Best Buy doesn't ship by Friday night or Sat I'm cancelling it.    If either of them has even the slightest movement I'm cancelling the other.

Worse comes to worse I'll return one.

I did B&H back on the 30th and Best Buy yesterday. If they both ship at the same time, I'll just take the Best Buy one back to a store for a refund, not that big of a deal.

I bought one from each vender this way I will get one soon!  I will sell the rest on ebay for double around Christmas when everyone wants what they can't have!

For those who hasn't ordered one yet, and don't want to wait for the second batch, just line up at Best Buy on Monday when everyone is returning their 2nd purchased Mavic and buy it from there LOL

No not really.  I am just saying that if you think DJI is going to ship drones to Apple, Amazon, B&H Photo and BestBuy before they ship the direct orders from customers who purchased from the DJI store...  You are Naive.  And the 3rd party vendors are just quoting what DJI tells them and "hoping" it's true.   DJI told the public "shipping in Mid October"...  We are well past "Mid October and DJI has not shipped a majority of the orders."

DJI is manufacturing the Mavic as fast as they can.  But I am willing to bet that their own orders from their own store will get priority over 3rd party vendors.

Everybody trying to rain on our parade. Let us believe in this Oct 31st date.

Actually, DJI staff have affirmed that 3rd party resellers count just the same as individuals when it comes to their place in line. It all depends on when they placed their orders, and I'm willing to bet that Best Buy was pretty quick about ordering that first batch, being a pretty big DJI reseller.

I'm confident that Best Buy's first batch is either en route now or already in their warehouses being sorted.
