@Fulgerite: completely agree, there is no way you can focus a normal lens so that only one half is sharp. Only special so called "tilt/shift" lenses can do that using the Scheimpflug principle, by deliberatly tilting the lens's optical axis against the focal plane of the sensor.
With all other lenses (including the Mavic's), everything that has the same distance to the lens is equally sharp (or equally unsharp, if misfocused).
So, no idea what happened between the two shots, but glad you have it sorted out now - can't wait to get mine! |
