I want to get my phone before the drone shows up, so which is best phone? Im only going to use it for the drone only...

You are going to buy a phone for the drone or you want generally to buy a phone? In my opinion if you are buying a phone only for the drone then go for something cheep with a big screen (around 5,5") like the Axon 7, OP3, a xiaomi or a Lenovo moto.

Just for the drone, I did the same thing for the Phantom 4 I bought a Ipad air 2 128 for just it. I hear the IPhone is the best to use for the mavic. So I was wondering if I have to go all the way to IPhone 7 plus or can I get a cheaper one and work the same?

Go buy a phone that you overall like, i heard that some android phones cant connect to cellular and wifi at the same time tho. Keep that in mind.

Can you explain that a little more? Kinda confused..

In my past experience with Phantom 2 and 3...  DJI Go runs better on iOS.  And DJI tends to release new features on the iOS version first.  I would recommend an Apple iPhone 7 or 7+.  Or an iPhone 6S or 6S+.

(And yes I DO own several Android devices... and I like them a lot.  But DJI Go just runs better on iOS.)

Depends on your budget you wont really find a good deal on an iPhone 7 plus right now as they are still being sold out daily (you will have to pay full price or wait there maybe a dale on black Friday or cyber Monday).

Maybe look into a iPhone 6s plus.

Id say it shouldn't matter, just depends on if you plan on storing any videos/photos or anything else on the phone if not 32gb should be fine.

I agree...  Just depends on storage space.  If you have a lot of apps & videos stored on the device it take up more room.  But there is no reason to store videos on the phone's memory in the first place...  32 GIG is pleanty of space for an iOS device unless you flood it with junk.

I am going to get the Iphone 7 plus 32 gig. dont know from where yet. its only for drone cause I wont use a Iphone daily

Cant find a good price...i dont mind paying but 1200 for 32 gig. Not sure thats right. Any ideas?

So far my Sansung S7 Edge is working flawlessly with the DJI Go App. I was about to get an iPhone 7 Plus. I may still do it but for now because I prefer a larger screen all the time.

unless you are using the drone professionally for long hours, wouldn't a dedicated phone for it a waste of resources? Especially if it's a 1200+ phone? Just my two cents though

I use an iPad mini 2, bought it online cheap $259, only use for my Phantom. Has WIFI, no cellular abilities. IOS system works great.

I've always flown with my Nexus 6P and other Android devices unless I'm taking my iPad Mini 3. To be frank, I don't really find there's a lot of differences between those two. If you are buying a dedicated phone for it, my recommendation would be a Nexus 6P, it has a large screen and comes with Vanilla Android without any crap to slow it down. Has never let me down, DJI Go or otherwise. Just my two cents though, I'm a bit weary of throwing 1200+ just for the sake of the drone and not use it otherwise.

yea got the ipad air 2, but for the mavic pro is what I need to find now. I like IOS for the drones, if I use my own phone and battery is low then cant fly drone much but if it has its own device can keep it charged and ready to go whenever.

Biggest and best device I know depends on persons wants and likes. I would love to have one device for Mavic Pro and Phantom 4. I have Ipad air 2 128 just for the Phantom 4 only, it was the biggest and told the best for it and so far I agree. Now I have to get ready for the Mavic Pro to get here and want the biggest. Yea I could use a cell phone for both but screen to small but the ipad air wont work with the mavic so I have to get something
