So had a very similar situation with mine yesterday. I will follow what DJI reports back to us. Read this has happened to at least 3 of us now so there is an obvious problem.

Makes sense since I'm foggy on Mavic warnings without having one in-hand.

B-737 has been around since the 60s, when there was no GPS, Ground Proximity, etc.  Also, that hard over rudder thing didn't help with the 7-3 crashing.  But the A320 & how it decides everything for you & what flight mode you're in - JUST like the Mavic.  Nothing like pulling circuit breakers until the aircraft decides to LAND and break out of its endless holding pattern!!  Except my butt isn't onboard.

DJI-Ken, here is the video playback from the DJI Go app moments before it crashed.  I actually found the Mavic was drifting slightly before I put it into RTH.  Despite me not touching the remote during the drift, notice the left stick was at 26% for yaw?  I did check the calibration this morning and it was fine.  Showed 0% for both sticks.

29 seconds: Return to home.  I notice it's drifting
1 min 3 seconds: Landing is initiated
1 min 12 seconds: I notice it's arcing out on a landing operation so I stop it.
1 min 45 seconds: It's over an area where it can land so I initiate another landing operation.  However it spins even faster than before.
2 min 5 seconds: I cancel the land because it just looks out of control.
I try cancelling it at the last moment but it's too late.

Watching the playback seems slow, but when you're looking at the craft and the screen at the same time for telemetry info, it happens so fast.

[b]Considering cancelling my order until they fix the "bugs"....this has me thinking it might not be such a bad thing mine hasn't been delivered yet...

Will you post the results you get from HQ on this thread? I'm interested to find out the worth and attentiveness of DJI Care Refresh if they deny your claim.

I really hope that DJI will make ATTI mode manually selectable by the pilot.  This would be a great  ...

I am retired and blessed to live in the Caribbean with perfect weather.  In the past four months I have had TWO crashes with another companies  drone.  With a FULL  battery the drone did an "Emergency Landing" and fell out of the sky.  As if the battery had dropped below the 10% lower limit.
IT SUCKED !
There was NOTHING I could do. I IMMEDIATELY try ATTI (I practice this routine all the time to be prepared)  ..
I try RTH
I try Home Lock to get it back
NOTHING

the second crash was into the ocean.  I now have posted messages hoping a snorkler will find it and offered a reward of $50.00
the company is AWESOME and tomorrow I will receive a brand new drone .
things happen, these are expensive  electronic toys.

after 28 years as an Airline Captain, this is like a new career !  I am flying again, every day, and loving it !

Got my first Mavic Pro yesterday, another should arrive next month.  THESE THINGS ARE SO COOL !!!

Thank You DJI !!!
I am SO grateful you are out there creating these things.

FYI  I have two Phantom 4's which are TOTALLY DEPENDABLE !!  Never a problem. NOTHING !
I am 100% confident these Mavic Pro aircraft will also be totally dependable.

Yes I did an a "Gesture" operation which allows you to take a picture.  That worked.  Then I shut that off and tested "Tap to fly".  Gesture was at the start of the flight.  I had cancelled it though.

Can someone tell me what the purpose of the different prop types are (ones with white ring, ones without white ring), and what happens if you don't follow the installation instructions? Also, what would happen to the sensors on the Mavic if an airplane with a radar altimeter flys over the drone?

When did the left stick first register 26% and get stuck?

The left stick registered 26% just after I ended the Tap to fly.  I turned the craft around counter clockwise (left stick pointing to the left).  Then I noticed in the logs that 26% showed the whole time after until it crashed.  I was not leaning on the thumb stick either.  It's just hold that percentage the whole time.

White props turn counter-clockwise, the black clockwise. This is required, it balances the forces, with all turning in one direction drones would just spin around.

What install instructions? Putting the props on? I tried to put them wrong, did not fit. If they are not in place they are likely to fly away -> maybe after liftoff -> crash.

Nothing?

The sky is falling the sky is falling THE SKY IS FALLING!!!

Seriously - what in the hell is wrong with you people? Take a deep breath and just wait. You are reacting to a story posted on an internet forum. People on internet forums 1) never make mistakes, 2) always tell the truth, 3) always read the instructions - If you believe this you are an imbecile.

You don't know these other users. Why would you trust what they are writing on the internet? Nothing that user with the crash  has written can be verified. Even the log will only rule out certain types of errors. He's flying it near trees. There are too many other things you don't know.

You must wait until you can do your own analysis.

I do not have the flight log so I cannot say when it started at 26%, the OP can answer that since they can start the playback from the beginning from when the motors were armed.
We just have to wait for the flight data analysis team to analyze the flight.

I agree, we all should TOTALLY FREAK OUT.  What's really annoying is this sort of THE SKY IS FALLI ...

Some concerns are not just about potential money lost or the headache of getting a drone replaced. We're talking a small but heavy hunk of metal and plastic that can fall from the sky. This raises more safety and liability concerns than a typical pilot with a bird this advanced/expensive should have to consider. If the fail-safes don't work even 1% of the time and Mavic do start crashing at that same rate, what might happen to the public perception and the health of this "hobby" then?

Your good, the analysis team will review it.
Only thing I can do is review your flight and get a little extra data with your email and you syncing the flight records. But not a big deal as there's nothing I can do anyways and the analysis team are the ones who make the decisions.
