What is the battery fiasco?  I never heard of it, so I'm curious.  I was going to order the Mavic and batteries from DJI seperately, but after cancelling my order from DJI I never placed the battery order.  Now that I'm getting my Mavic next week and only having one battery, it sucks to have to wait 20 days for DJI to ship them.  Should I hold off and only use the battery it comes with for now?  Will it have the problem you're mentioning?

This why I went with Apple. Seeing as Apple is their sister company I am sure they woulda had a figure ordered before anyone was allowed to order direct from DJI, so would make sense they fulfil Apple's order first before anyone else.

I assumed that Apple was their primary US retailer like in prior years, so they had to have a big chunk of the first batch earmarked for Apple.

If it makes you feel any better, while my order has "shipped" and I have a tracking number it's not returning anything useful and My UPS Choice is saying no scheduled deliveries to my house.

I'm hoping that changes as it shipped over 12 hours ago!

I'm really wondering where they're being shipped from.  Somewhere in the US, or straight from DJI in China?

  It's not really a fiasco with the battery as in problems or reliability ,just a long wait to get one... I just figure DJI is more focused on getting the Mavic out vs Accessories.The Apple web site now states unavailable for batteries. I have seen several on here begging for someone to sell them a xtra battery. Just seen 2 batteries and charger hub go for over $600 on Ebay. Batteries are in high demand just as the Mavic it's self.

Wow that's insane. I just ordered two batteries, a hub, and a car charger. Cost me $230 or so but I'll wait instead of paying almost 3 times as much!

Anyone else receive a shipping notification from Apple almost 48 hours ago and still have no info with the number from UPS?  Mine says it can't find any tracking details.  I know sometimes it takes 24 hours, but this seems a bit excessive.  Almost like Apple is making things up that they actually shipping anything!

  I read in another thread somewhere that a person in, I believe San Diego was quoted a Apple store pickup time.  Maybe because it's the weekend it hasn't updated?

Got the following response from Advexure today.

"Sorry about the slight delay in this response. We had a good call with DJI HQ yesterday evening/early this morning and received from helpful information on production. Unfortunately it’s not the news you may want to hear as there is still uncertainty in exactly when your unit will be able to ship but it definitely helps to provide a bit more insight into the Mavic situation.

Long story short is that the slow fulfillment of the Mavic is going to continue. DJI’s production capacity is very low right now in comparison to the completely overwhelming demand that the Mavic has seen. They are continuing to increase their production capacity but this takes time as they need to ensure high quality is maintained throughout as they scale their production. We will continue to receive sporadic shipments of Mavic units but DJI is currently splitting about 100 Mavic units per day off the production line amongst their worldwide distribution network. This obviously leaves very small allocation numbers each day and they cannot even ship 1 unit to each member of the network each day.

The bottom line is we’re going to be continuing to wait on things. On the plus side, you have a pretty early pre-order so are in a good position. I can guarantee you the people 300 or 400 spots behind you in our pre-order queue would take your spot any day.

We are going to be releasing an official update to ALL pre-order customers by EOD today, much of the information I have provided in this email will be in that update.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions. Once again, we appreciate your continued support, patience, and understanding of the situation."

Received tracking number, leaving Memphis today arriving Wednesday!

I just got the text and email from my Apple store that my Mavic is ready for pickup! Ordered Sept. 27th.

Apple has shipped mine!!! Whoo Hoo! (ordered October 16th)  Well they have at least created a shipping lable. I will check back later to confirm Fedex has posession of it.

Unfortunately for me, as you might have read from my other thread, I received a unit with a defective compass 2 and Apple confirmed to me no replacement available before... January 2017!
I am now in contact with DJI Support team to have it shipped back to HK and repaired or exchanged. I am afraid that I will have to wait for some other couple of weeks.

That was the case with my in-store pickup.  Expect yours to arrive at the store within the next day or two.

what were everyone's expected dates of shipping when they placed an order? I ordered one from a reseller 3/10/16 but i also order a mavic through apple on 1/11/16 still sayd 6-7wks until arrival..
I know i ordered late through Apple, only did it because I have already paid for my other pre order in early Oct. and Apple dont charge until just before it ships..I think I'll get my apple order first..
Hopefully I get some news soon..

I believe there was a cutoff point somewhere in mid October. Because not long after I ordered on the 16th Apple started saying 7 to 8 weeks. I am sure they had so many already on order, fortunately I got in on one before they were gone.

So I'm happy that my tracking has updated and looks like I'm getting in on Wednesday instead of Friday (woohoo)..  I have to say, Apple is stupid for two reasons.  1)  They claimed to have shipped it on the 11th, but UPS is saying a label was created on the 14th but has yet to actually receive the item.  2) When I bought an iPhone 4 they offered a free case or bumper.  It literally cost me $0, but they shipped it by UPS and said that it had to be signed for, couldn't be left with a neighbour, could not redirect it to my work address or anything.  I order a $1000 drone and they opt for no signature required.
