I'm not sure if this is an issue with the camera or just the D-Log color profile but all of my footage using D-Log has this flickering problem:

Settings:

ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/60
White Balance: 5000k
Style: 0, 0, +1
Some color correcton and grading applied

This one is taken with auto settings, non D-Log:

Is anyone having this issue so far? Or is D-Log is just weak?

It is not flickering. Its the height of the sun and the props that cause the "flicker" (shadow) it looks like.

In your 2nd video, the sun is lower, not casting a shadown over the camera.

Actually I'm about to upload my footages taken during several time of the day, even if the sun is behind the clouds. Flicker only happens in D-Log.

What about auto settings with D-Log? Could it be the shutter speed/ other manual settings causing the flickr?

I think I know what the issue is now. Whenever I use 1/60 shutter speed (because shutter speed = FPS ×2) the camera is letting in more light and it also overexposed all my footage. This is the reason why my footages have the flickering/pulsating effect that looks like propeller shadows. We badly need ND filters.

It's a well known problem shooting greenery. My 4k Phantom 3 Pro footage is unusabe thanks to this.

I did see your post prior to posting mine. I guess DJI has not resolved this issue. Too bad I can't even use manual mode because of this.

I'm going to try to shoot with NONE and 0,-1,-1 this time and see what happens. If it's the same, I'm going back to full auto unfortunately.

Oh man I missed what you said. So it is a problem with greenery? That really sucks. I've seen several P3 and P4 videos that involved a lot of greenery and they don't have this issue. Where you shooting in D-Log as well when you experienced this issue?

Welp, never gonna use D-Log until DJI fixes it. I think I hit the settings I am very happy with:

ISO: 100
Shutter: Depends on the scene
Color: None
Style: 0,-1,-1
White Balance: Depends on the scene

It didn't seem to make a difference what profile I tried, sometimes the problem is there, sometimes it's not, or not quite as bad. It does seem to be mainly with heavy amounts of foliage and no amount of tweaking shutter speed, with or without manual white balance or ND filters makes any difference. I've heard people say it's a compression problem and also a limitation with the sensor when shooting 4K. When the leaves come out again here, I'm going to try 2.7K and see if that helps.

If you watch the video I posted above, it is a footage I did with my Mavic this morning. I am surrounded with lots of green here, and with the new settings, I'm good. No more flicker and pulsating issues for me.

Looks good although there isn't really that much green in the picture; the clouds obscure a great deal of it. It'd be interesting to see how your footage looked if the vast majority of the content was green leaves. That's one tall mast btw

Looks like framedrops to me... Did you format your memory card directly using dji go app and with the card inserted in the drone ? If not, do so. Maybe your sdcard has been formatted with a really small block size.

The first one, actually I did not notice the flickering right away... First thing I noticed was the cloud reflections in the water seemed not to move continuously... Hence framedrops

Gotcha. Yeah that only happens in D-Log for me -- probably in conjunction with the greenery in the scene and the codec cannot process everything properly.

I posted another vimeo vid above with a different setting. I think I am satisfied for now.
