I am guessing they did these different versions for a reason. I have the A, and saw where others currently have the C.

gl300a is from original models of the p3.
the b and c are newer as time went on.

some say the a version has tiny bit more transmit power vs the others
but I have no real idea myself.

I have an A version can say that the RC update to 1.8 REALLY messed up my video stream display
downgrading to 1.6 fixed that for me though

In addition, For the GL300A, when upgrading the firmware, maybe you need download the version 1.3.2 firstly and upgrade it through SD card or USB drive if current firmware is below V1.3.2, and then upgrade it to the latest.
While for the B and C, there is no need to do that.

Sorry to hear about that, may I know what's your aircraft model and aircraft firmware? what mobile device you are using and how about the APP version?
Do you still have any screen shot or video about the video stream display issue? if so, would you please upload to us so that we could do a further evaluation about that? thanks.

the 300A has the divinci chip in it, which processes the video for u, newer models depend on the tablet or phone to do it... also the A has a little more power too it

I have provide all that to Mindy over the last week a few times but :
this phantom and tablet were bought in dec 2015 and have flown as a pait since many many many flights without any issues what so ever.

Then I updated my rc to 1.8
and you effectively killed my stream to device.

p3p original model --old motors
gl300a rc---- NOW 1.6
p3 is latest fw
3.01 on app

shield k1-
THIS WORKED PERFECT UNTIL THE 1.8 FW update
AND STILL works PERFECT with 1.6

please don't bother with the approved list line .

this device if far more capable than the list of 2 and 3 year old APPROVED devices.
no one is going to try to find a 2 year old tablet today......
it is time that DJI step up and update the android list to current high quality unit sold today.

UNLESS you are trying to force an ALL APPLE app world.

I stopped flying quickly and then reverted back to 1.6
all this info was provide well over a week ago including the 1.6 fix

I also suggested maybe the issue is related to my RC being gl300 A
and that is the model you specifically were targeting with upgrade....

So could a argument be made that the A is better? IF, that is the case, why the other versions? To cut cost, less firm ware to update, many other reasons?

The FCC also has a GC300E and GC300F in the license pipeline.

I suspect that DJI will come out with some internal screen on a remote at some point in the generations to get rid of the interface problems with sundry iOS and Android devices.  Seems more likely if they cannot get rid of the video lag matters with RC models leading up to that sort of integrated design.  They may have to go with a SIM card too, or perhaps just link flight data and maps off a nearby cellphone and leave all video between their RC and the drone in flight.
