I recorded something strange. I am not sure what this is.  It  looks like some fish surfing a wave?

Looks like it may be a flying fish

But flying fish live in tropical waters.  This was filmed on Long Island North Shore.

     Looks more like a bird trying to take flight after you gave it a scare.  Just a thought.

it could be some kind of herring, not a clue, buts its behavior is similar to flying fish.
