I think its about:
"You do not need to care for battery-pre-heating for yourself, the mavic does it on its own".

Actually i think its just a fallout of the multicore CPU/GPU in the Mavic and not a feature they strived for :-)
Like on the Bebop...
I will still keep my bats in a warm pouch before flying if i can but i wont worry about it otherwise...

The Mavic will be absolutely fine in the winter. It will get hot enough to stay at a good temperature. I'll be taking mine france skiing with me in Feb.

What warm pouch do you use?

Hehe, actually just a fur linned awful looking old-ladies bag. You dont wanna see :-)
I put it into the flight bag and it keeps the batteries usually at 20°C for an hour or so within the flight bag.
So it does its job :-)
There are surly better choices :-)

I flew my mavic around for 20 minutes or so at 32f (0c) no problems at all and no noticeable effect on the battery drain. I did keep the battery in my pocket while walking to the location.

You took a picture from the heatsink. You should have pulled the battery out and check temps of the battery
