The Mavic will not accept a thread-on filter, so it will be a very thin press on filter.
They will not need to be removed to calibrate the gimbal, as we received a lot of feedback that requested this feature.

We are shooting for a Late January launch with preorders opening up early January.

Great, thanks.  This is the route I plan to go.  

Ironic:  Asked Jeff a question about shipping and then received a status in email about my order after he replied.  Looking forward to the 6-pack and will seriously consider the cinema series when they come out.

THIS is what customer service looks like.  I'm not going to cancel mine now after all, and I'll probably order the Cinema series and keep both sets because a business that stands behind their product like this is one I want to support.

I was at first very unhappy yesterday, but after seeing Jeff's great customer service, and receiving an update email just to keep everyone informed about a very minor delay it just shows they care about their customers and product. So my apologies to Jeff for being a bit taken back yesterday.

I'll now also keep my order, and also pre-order the Cinema series in January as well.

I received the 3 pack of filters and tried  the CP filter out.  The gimbal motor failed to initialize.  ;(
Took the filter off and it intialized.  Will report back with  my findings.

You will need to install the filter after the gimbal initializes.

I had a thought while waiting for both my filters and my Mavic:  Did Polar Pro explore the idea of a press-on housing with threads to accept standard filters?  If so, what were the issues?  I'm thinking weight may have been a big one, but just curious.

Hey Gary, that is a great idea, however weight is going to be the problem on that design.
I am going to throw that up on the design board and at least explore it a bit more.

Is there a link to the cinema series filters? What's the difference, I don't see them on the site anywhere. I too ordered the 6 pack and am awaiting their arrival. Little upset about the installation. Mainly because of battery changing. It's not like it's just once for the day. If the CS version is allowed to be left on I'd much rather have that.

The Cinema Series filters will be live on the site towards the end of December.

The difference is higher glass quality and a very thin aircraft-aluminum frame.

I just wanted to say that I got my 6-pack this weekend and they look pretty good.  I don't have my Mavic, but will have it in hand tomorrow.  Hoping to get some flying and try the filters by this weekend and I'll report back when I have something to say one way or the other.  Initial inspection looks good with a "dot" on one.  I'm going to see if it haas an impact on the video and also see if there are any other issues before deciding on the one filter.

So I guess it's valid for all 3 and 6 filter sets?! My 6-filter set is right now on the way and I'm already waiting for the cinema version - I'm sorry for you guys to have these issues with the Mavic filter launch.

Great service for sure but at the moment I have requested a refund from my order to european dealer.

For the price they have to be initialization compliant.

Yes, it is valid for both sets. The Cinema Series will be available in two 3-Packs (shutter, and Vivid)

I have to say I'm a little dispointed, I ordered the $99 six pack only because of the ND8/PL. And now I just read that this block gimbal initialization if left on... these lenses better be optically flawless otherwise I don't really see the point of bothering and risking to have a "gimball obstructed error".

6 pack came in the mail yesterday and upon inspection realized there is a big glob of glue on the glass of the ND16, all others are clean. Haven't had a chance to test them out yet as it's been around 10ºF or below where I'm at in Colorado, but I find it hard to believe that the location and size of the glob wouldn't effect image quality.

Just received my 6 set polar pro.
Box is nicely packed.
It comes with it own plastic case, hard foam inside to hold the filters..
also included is 2 stickers, cleaning cloth, and quick start sheet with info on the filter, FAQ, support.

Feels like the filter is made from hard compound plastic with a rubberized coating on the outside only.
Each filter is labeled.

Installing was easy, just follow the steps on the info sheet.
Moving the camera around, it doesn't hit the gimbal.
The filter is nice an tight , doesnt look like it will fall off during flight.
I try to spin the filter , it wouldn't moved.

I wasn't able to test it out because it was dark once I got home.
I'll will test out this weekend with the polar pro filter app.

-- My only issue-
My CP filter had a small smug, easily wiped off. no biggie.
Some glue on the inside plastic. not on the filter glass itself.
Its a little difficult to remove the filter if you push it in due to the flter end being angled.Maybe just be not wanting to damange the gimbal.

I have tried several of mine and found no visual issues in the video.  As for installation, they are TIGHT, and mine only go onto the front of the lens about a millimeter before I stop pressing.  I don't want to jam one on!

So far, no issues and I knew about installing AFTER power-up, although it becomes a pain when you have picked the perfect filter and then need to change batteries.

The filters really do make a difference.  Thanks to Jeff for the info and support.

Once the CS version comes out end of Dec , I'm going to exchange . So i don't have to remove and install.

If the Cinema series don't need to be pulled for a power cycle, that will seal the deal for me.  I'll be exchanging as well!
