Where is the best place to buy one of these? Ive also heard of some of the problems with them. I was also trying to figure out if I got it direct from DJI if they would try sending a bad batch out to their own customers to see if issues occur vs sending to dealers first or vice versa.

Be careful on amazon. Most paces are fine, but you might notice some used listings. Just for the heck of it, I inquired with one of the vendors and they asked for an amazon gift card up from. Obviously a scam which I noticed amazon took down later.

Buy from someplace that won't charge you sales tax (DJI for sure, some other resellers as well)

I would suggest purchasing from a vendor that doesn't charge until shipped. Get that on top of no tax and your golden, even if it takes a bit longer.
