For some reason when I click the intelligent flight mode buttons, sometimes "Tripod Mode" is there on the bottom right and other times its not.  Have no idea why this is or if it has something to do with what mode the aircraft is in. Anyone know why this is?

Could you clarify whether you use an iOS or Android? What Go app version do you have? Could you happen to provide a screenshot of what you're experiencing?

Tripod Mode is in the Main Controller Settings tab, and right under Beginner Mode.

I use iOS latest version.  U found tripod mode does not always show up based on if you have good GPS connectivity or not

I had the same problem with missing tripod mode. Fixed it by updating to the latest app version. Maybe try a reinstall of the app?

I don't have tripod mode indoors, even with Vision Positioning turning ON. Only shows up with good GPS signal, and only in intelligent Flight modes, never into the Main controller setting tab. DJI Go App v3.0.2 (2734). IOs Version. I already tried re-insatalling the app. Aircraft and controller with the last firmware. Really frustating, Tripod Mode indoors was one of the main reasons  becauseI bought the mavic.

For indoors, did you turn on the Vision Positioning? It needs the camera under it turned on for tripod mode to work. I saw a video on youtube where someone couldn't get tripod mode on his mavic to work indoors until he turned that on. It's in the options menu under the Visual Navigation Settings tab.

Vision Positioning on. Front, under, everything.

If you do not see the Tripod Mode, synce your flight records and delete/reinstall the app.

I deleted and re-installing the app a few times, but still the same problem. No tripod mode indoors...

Are you on the latest app, I see Tripod mode without the aircraft being on, and powered on with and without GPS signal.

DJI Go App v3.0.2 (2734) iOS version. Latest available in the app store, installed and reinstalled many times. Mavic flying indoors with enough light. In fact, optiMode activated and flying very steady, but...tripod mode not showing up anywhere.
Latest aircraft, controller and battery firmware as well. I spend days trying it to work before post here, but seems like not solution for me.

What version of iOS are you running... that could come into play as well.

Did you guys get this figured out. I just got my Mavic Pro and have the same problem. My main settings page does not look like your screenshots, and I have no tripod mode.

Yes, it IS in the flight mode selector. But if I select it, it says it cannot enter tripod mode until I launch the unit.
I've seen your screenshots of main settings, and mine is not like that. It is not an option.
I know I've seen demo videos where its turned on before take-off. But I can't do that.
Why does it not show up in main settings? I've installed the latest version, as far as I know.

My screenshot was from an earlier version, it will work from the intelligent flight modes.
None of the intelligent flight modes work until you take off.

I am having this same problem...
Cant activate tripod mode indoors...

Even when I am in Opti, with visual sensors on, etc etc
I can not find Tripod mode -- *neither* by accessing from intelligent flight mode menu, nor from main controller settings...
I have JUST downloaded and installed the App in the last 24hours, and installed the firmware update, etc...

Ok, mine disappeared today when I was outside flying.  I don't have time to troubleshoot today, but it WAS there day-before-yesterday when I flew.  It was in the Intelligent Apps section AND in the other spot.  It DID require me to take off first, but worked fine after that.  Today, I was in the air and looked for it and nothing.

I don't mind having certain criteria needed for it to work, but it should show ALL the time (grayed-out when unavailable) and we should know what that criteria is.

I was checking something else and noticed that Tripod mode was missing however, with the app and controller on, if I powered the Mavic off, Tripod mode appeared.  As soon as I powered the Mavic back on, Tripod mode disappeared again.  This is indoors here at my desk with the latest firmware and Galaxy S7 Edge running DJI Go4.
I should also add that I did try the above suggestion of powering on the controller, then Mavic, then app but Tripod mode is still missing.
