hi, I've watched you tube videos showing one can fit an iPad mini 4 into the folding arms of the RC. The slots that are in the arms sides will grip the corners. It looks quite secure on the you tube demonstration. Has anyone on the forum any experience and can comment. It's not documented in the manual.

Yep I've been using an iPad mini 4 with mine.  The cable is a little annoying but the extra screen real estate is worth it.  Have a 90 degree lightning cable on order from eBay which will hopefully be a bit better

I wonder why that important feature is not advertised?

Maybe the designer of the slots didn't communicate what they were for. I'm sure someone in the development team, had a iPad mini and thought of the slots.

Is there anyone out there using the ASUS ZenPad S 8 Z580C-B1 8" 32 GB or the ASUS Z380M-A2 Zenpad 8 Tablet with the Mavic Controller.
These are the same size as the iPad Mini with better performance.
Both with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)
ASUS ZenPad S 8 Z580C-B1 8" Tablet is going for about $160 and the ASUS Z380M-A2 Zenpad 8 Tablet is going for about $130
Eny feed back on these Tablets or Android 6.0 Marshmallow would be gratly appreciated.

With the iPad mini in the arms the provided lightning cable is not in the correct position or long enough.

I have been using an iPad mini 2, no problems.

It's not documented but I've only used my iPad Mini with 10+ flights. Never used my phone. It works lovely, absolutely fine.

Ill research these as im an Android user and don't want to invest in an ipad just for this.

For the cost these are not bad options...
