Without the flight log and optionally pics or video it is difficult to figure out what went wrong.

The flight logs will not help you find out what happened, only the flight log that the user can see in the flight record can assist him.
Uploading to HealthyDrones or another 3rd party site does not provide all data and their data may be incorrect. For accurate information from the flight data recorder, only DJI has the software program to correctly decode all the data from the aircraft.

Seems like that would be pretty nice to release to owners so they can view their logs in a more accurate manner rather than relying on 3rd party options which are not accurate/granular enough.

The data from the flight data recorder can only be correctly decoded by DJI.
Your flight log can be read in the app in the flight records section.

Hi Ken
How would the techs be able to tell whether the Mavic was flying randomly by itself or from a stick input if there are issues with sticks? I have been wondering about this since it was first reported.

For example, if someone said the Mavic kept flying left and they were absolutely sure they never touched the stick but the data shows that a full input was moved on the stick to send it left (software wise in this case) how will that be determined and corrected if needed? As it will look like pilot error won't it?

For the few that had a stick issue, the stick would stick at a certain percentage. Even if you steadily try and hold the stick at a certain percentage you probably cant, it will fluctuate a by a few %.
So the flight record in the Go app will be able to tell that, as well as the flight data recorder.

The only thing you can do is download the DAT files and have DJI read them.
