When mapping the C1 button to Re-Center the focus on an iPhone 7+ I end up with an annoying messages saying something about "this device would like to communicate with your iPhone" - with an accept or decline prompt whenever I tap C1...which in turn requires a "Tap" on the screen. This of course defeats the purpose of the shortcut in the first place. Is there away to permanently acknowledge and accept the "device"?

What I found was to temporarily go to your home screen from the GO App by pushing the home button, then push the C1 button of the remote to bring up the dialogue box. Once you acknowlege by confirming "Allow", it will bring back the GO App and you are done.

No more re-appearing of the dialogue box again when you press the C1 button. At least before you quit and re-enter the GO App.
