I'm pretty disappointed with DJI.
I'm a loyal support, having virtually every consumer product since the Phantom 2. (P2,P3,P3P,P4,I1,Osmo,Osmo+,Osmo Mobile, Mav1, RonM).
But this has pissed me off to the point where I'm seeking to file a civil suit to pay for my damaged phone.
During a simple underhand shoot with my DJI Osmo Mobile using the Samsung 7 Edge, the Gimbal just fell out, natually cracking the heck out my screen. First of all it was embarrasing, and secondly I blamed myself. I never read the directions when I took it out. I picked up the unit, watched a youtube video and went to work.
But the more research I did the more I realized this wasn't supposed to happen. The gimbal "supposively" can't be removed. I tried reassembling it, but no matter how hard I twist the black circle casing, it does not tighten.
So everyone, give a quick tug to your unit before you use it. I'll update this thread with the response from DJI. For those who are asking, I purchased this from Amazon. Don't know if I will be swapping for a new unit yet.
I've attached photos.
