You're suppose to connect to your drone's wifi first and load the Go app. Then disconnect from that wifi connection and connect to your home wifi, and wait and see it you get the update message, keeping the Go app loaded. Once you get the message you can download the FW to your device. Once downloaded you would then connect back to the drone's wifi to install.

Then change the network to WIFI or cellular and open the DJI GO app again.
You can download the new firmware.

I just had a look under the P34K firmware , which I thought was a p3s with a 4K camera.
but I guess there is no Firmware for us... Thought we finally got a break. Nope....

I didn't see a banner, so I went to this page and downloaded the .bin file.  Then loaded it in the P3S and did the update that way.  I got a green light on the camera when it was finished, and the .txt file said "Success".  So I guess I did it correctly.  However, the Android app still says 1.68.8+.  I"ll try it all out tomorrow.  How to I get the app to read correctly?

I downloaded the firmware.
Then I connected again to the AC, then started the firmware upgrade.
Then everything stopped after less than a minute: no message whatsoever.
I looked around and found no connection to the AC (but RC and AC were still tethered).
Then I powered everything off and on again and everything was back to normal except that the AC is still 1.6.8 and the App is still 3.0.2 but now there's no request for downloading firmware any more.
I also looked in the se card, and there's no trace of firmware file neither firmware update log.

What should I do?

i have the banner. I'm going to wait mine works pretty good I have a DBS mod and I get 3500 feet a buddy never upgraded to 1.68 same setup I have he gets 11000 feet but I don't want any other issues just in case my Phantom flies perfect not one issue every single thing is by the book couldn't be happier spent thousands on others and it never was this good

You're going to want to wait because what if it creates a new glitch like loss of GPS or return to home just stops working and you lose it for now if it's working at least okay don't do it wait a while and get the reviews

Yeah!!! Finally 1.7.9 on my phantom and good about page. Dji mindy when I deleted go app and make re link I've got "aircraft firmware unknown" at about page. But instead I've got "firmware download red message" and I successfully upgraded to 1.7.9 with no errors! I am very disappointed cause it's snowy winter here in Russia
