Today DJI release a new 3.1.0 DJI GO app, did you try to update with that version?

Yes Tablet is running on 3.1.0
I intend to try a different tablet today ............

Hi, summarize my experience

Phantom 3 Standard with:

Version 1.5.7 (20 meters high and 50 meters away) Go home
Version 1.6.8 (40 meters high and 80 meters away) Go home
Version 1.7.9 (40 meters high and 90 meters away) Go home

Do not feel the upgrade and I continue with these problems, I do not know what to do anymore !!!

No, I didn't see a banner or a message to update.  But as I said, I updated manually with an SD card, and it was successful.  I don't seem to have any problems.  The P3S flies just fine.  I just can't see what version I'm on n the About section of the App.  Maybe in time it will appear.

After looking at the recommended tablets/phones I forked out another £130 on a Nexus 7 from Argos .
Banner appeared ,updated firmware ,showing latest numbers now .
Looks like latest app needs more memory
Just tested it : video downlink is much smoother range is fine for L.O.S.
Anyone want an Asus zen pad cheap ?
........maybe I should have purchased an Advanced or Professional in the 1st place !

It worked for me ( I had to buy a new one from the supported devices  list )

Works great for me, I had issues in CE mode but also on holiday in FCC. Now i have much better range, although some weird stuff happened to a video file when I lost range? It stopped recording and it doesn't fully play back anymore. Anybody else encounter this?

Hi DJI Mindy,
I saw on the Mavic page that when doing firmware upgrades one needed to do the upgrade with each battery. Is this the case for the Phantom 3 Standard as well?

DanD2, you have tried on both IOS and android device, right? if still cannot upgrade the remote, and the remote cannot link to aircraft, then it needs to be sent in for evaluation and get it fixed by our engineers.

Did the update tonight after work.  Phone used was a Samsung S5 latest firmware on phone and latest DJI Go app firmware.  Just followed the vid on page one and the total process took maybe 15 minutes. If weather is nice this weekend will post any range fixes.  

CAN I DOWNLOAD THE APP USING AN IPHONE AND THEN JUST KEEP USING MY ANDROID DEVICE TO RUN THE DJI GO APP TO FLY NORMALLY AS I ALWAYS DO?

I updated yesterday and took it out today and it's now made me not want to fly it. I flew it to see how far I could go. While flying I was not getting the best video was lagging a lot just within 100m. Never had that problem before. I reached to about 350m and it said weak rc signal pushed a little bit more and screen went blank said aircraft was disconnect and took almost a minute for it to connect. Which has never happened as well before this update. Anytime I loose rc signal it would just automatically return home. I really wish I could go back to the last firmware

You can downgrade the firmware version.
Tab and hold the graduation cap icon in the top right corner of the main page to enter the downgrade screen.

Sorry I am a little confused about your description.
If you do not use an iPhone to connect the remote, there is no need to install dji go APP on your iPhone.
Besides, the APP for IOS and android device is different from each other since the different mobile system.

well my android device does not show the banner.. so i was thinking of using an iphone to download the update and install itbiny drone... after that.. i would just keep using my android device to fly my drone.. ia this possible?

Yes, you can upgrade aircraft and remote through your iPhone. After upgrading successfully, you could connect your android device to the remote and fly aircraft.

Yes, this is where I get the problem. Both in VLC and Windows media player they stop playing at the end and stop working. Other videos are fine. SD card is only 2 months old. I just put in a new card, hope to see that the problem is gone. I never encountered any of these problems with previous firmware versions.

I have the Phantom 3 standard, I upgraded the DJIgo app on my android phone to 3.0.1 and wanted to upgrade the FW on the AC.  I have not gotten the upgrade FW banner.  How can I upgrade the AC?  I have downloaded the FW file P3C_FW_V01.07.0090.bin, can I just put that on a new SD card and power up the AC, will that upgrade the FW?

Could you please enter general settings - about to check your current firmware version?
You need to do the update via DJI GO app.

Hi, here is another confused user of P3S who is trying to get the newest firmware on. I have bought the drone used (at that point I had no idea about the issues with range - the drone work, but looses connections within 50-70 meters). The seller of course never returned emails or calls, so I am here hoping that the newest firmware might mitigate the range problem. Other than the range the drone works fine, I get streamed video on my phone (Samsung S4 Mini with CyanogenMod).

But - I do not get that red banner to download the new firmware - that is why I have joined this forum as it would appear that several users managed to get this done with the support of DJI provided here.

I am also in tough with German DJI support - and can at least say that they are trying their best to help me, but none of the ideas worked so far.

So - where I am at the moment:
- I am on the latest app version 3.1.0 (v7).
- I do not get the download banner - I have tried all those approaches mentioned on the previous pages without success. I have tried it with another Samsung phone which has original OS version. I do not have access to iOS device at the moment.
- When I connect with the drone I can see the App version in the 'About', the version of the firmware is: N/A and I can see the flight controller SN.
- I have in the mean time used the trick of accessing the information about firmware, but in only shows the following:

---------------------------------------------------------------
Equipment: Loading
Firmware Version: Loading
Downgrade Firmware to:
[                                     ]
No available firmware for downgrade
---------------------------------------------------------------

And it stays that way (I waited more than 10 minutes)

So - where does this leave me?
-> Is the fact that the App is not able to recover the current version of the firmware the reason why the download banner does not show?
-> Should I attempt to install the firmware directly (I did not yet) or do I have other options?

I would very much appreciate your help and ideas

Hi Matus, I had similar problems (like many others) with my new drone and firmware 1.6.8
I cured this by loading version 1.7.9 it now operates perfectly,
You will find many youtube videos of how to upgrade via the Sd card method, watch them all.
I have 3 android devices, like many users, Tablet, Smartphone and a Nexus 7 2013 which I use ONLY for controlling the drone, no other apps loaded.
I have found that the Nexus will show the firmware version after the upgrade (or downgrade) but the other two devices will not show the version, my guess is that it is stored on the device that was connected when the upgrade was done.
This has worked for me, so give it a try.

Think about it.  Your Phantom has no internet access .  Try going to your wifi internet after connecting to the Phantom.  Click on a couple of icons,  don't matter which. after a few minutes,  you should get the update available banner.  download the update then switch over to the Phantom wifi to install it.  I just did all this and it worked.  but first connect to Phantom, then connect to internet wifi and wait a few.
