This was the second weekend I've flown my Mavic Pro and a problem started today with my gimbal and/or the video/photo quality. My videos are all wavy (see below) and photos (attached) as well. I also received a couple warnings today saying "Gimbal Motor Overloaded" and "Abnormal Gimbal Vibration".
Does anybody reconize this problem? Is my gimbal motor shot and does this require sending in the Mavic for service? Any idea how long this type of service takes?
After anxiously waiting for it to ship, for this to happen now is so disappointing.
Make sure the gimbal hasn't popped over any of the corner stops (little plates). I think there's 3 - 2 front and 1 back. Haven't got mine yet but saw this mentioned elsewhere.
for me it is sort of an pid problem,
i can see micro vibrations with happen in sort of regular time, nearly every 15-20 seconds,
contacted the dji support allready, up to this point i checked the following things:
gimbal moving freely
no dampening thingies were sliped out of place
the gimbal is not stuck behind one of his limiting clamps
propeller are in balance
motors without propellers are running smooth, no vibrations or unbalance visible
did the following:
imu calibration
gimbal calibration
dji support told me to do this process again without sd card, i dont know why this matters,
success no.
still got micro vibrations, the footage is not usable and pictures are even worse.
i will contact dji support germany on monday and i think i have to send it in for service.
Hi, Yes I can confirm my Gimbal is sitting normally according to this picture and the dji pre-flight tutorial video and I still have the problem. Any other ideas?
I hope it can be fixed through firmware instead of sending in for repair.
After 2 days and 8 flights of having these suspected micro-vibrations causing wavy video and photos, the problem disappeared this afternoon. The only thing I did was rotate my blades switching the fronts and backs. I'd like to think this problem is solved in my case (fingers crossed).
@fans55dd4de5 - you said your blades are already balanced so maybe your cause is different than mine, but your photo of the crane looks exactly how my photos turned out when i was having the problem.
Same problem here. I flew it twice, with the same result. Couldn't resolve the problem, so I sent it back to DJI last week. They should receive it on the 16th of Nov, so I will let you guys know what the turn around time is. Very disappointing... Just hoping that it was damaged during shipping, and not a systemic problem that will result in a later recall.
Sorry to hear that. Thanks for keeping us updated if DJI gives you more information from the repair. The problem for me went away but it would still be good to know the problem in case it returns.
My problem with a wavy, distorted imaging from the camera has returned. I've attached pictures of my gimbal and everything is correct. Do you have any other ideas as to the problem? Thanks!
Having the same issue noticed on first flight. Received Mavic yesterday; updated firmware, calibrated compass, IMU, and gimbal; no changes. Just seems the gimbal is is floating too much.
Also having the same issue. I've noticed it before but didn't take any mind to it because I thought it was just the cold. But today it did it again. Here's a video

They are aware of it and this can happen in very cold weather, You video show snow so I'm guessing it's due to the cold weather.
I noticed the cold affected it as well. It will shake and make a noise. Sometimes will give you a error.
Hi Ken, I hope they know how to fix it because my one arrives today in your service center. It showed exactly the same problems. And not only at 32 degrees. My one showed it too up to 45 degrees. I just wonder why some Mavic owners never had the issues and even flying in 10-20 degree (always Fahrenheit)?

If yours did it well within the operating temperature than that's possibly a different thing. They'll probably repair/replace your aircraft.

It was never operating fine since I got it back from my last DJI service. Somehow I would prefer they would know where the vibrations/waves are coming from and they improve the whole drone to be resistant against everything. I fear it's a hardware problem
After my first service I got a replacement drone and I had it for a few days and could send it back because the new had this problem. So from 4 week having my DJI Mavic I had it traveling through the states for 3 weeks :-)
Each delivery from Michigan to California takes 4 complete business days - I brought it to UPS on Thursday and it arrives today

Sounds good, make sure to report here how it works after your flight.
I promise I will reply - but if it won't work then I'm not sure what to do, then DJI hopefully offers me a special deal for the Phantom 4 Pro, that seems to be an interesting drone for me...

DJI will not let you exchange for a different aircraft. They will repair or exchange the Mavic for another Mavic.
I was just thinking. Today was the first time I've flown with out the gimble cover on and the wavy and jello effect happened. Tomorrow I'll try again with the cover on and see if it helps keep the camera warm enough.
It's really strange that it happens to so many people - I was reading that the Mavic needs probably some time to acclimatize to the temperatures, would be interesting if this is the key. But nevertheless, it shouldn't happen
I hope to get my Mavic back soon, I hate that there is no way to expedite the delivery. It will be the second time that I can't take my Mavic to a nice trip...
So this morning I tried again with the gimbal cover on. Yesterday it was about 25 degree outside today is warmer around 30-35 degree but really windy. This is the resaults I came up with. Looks like it's just to cold for the camera and the gimbal cover helps keep it warm enough
