I have a P3P running 1.9 firmware. I updated yesterday from 1.4 to 1.9 because of video feed issues during flight. But, the issues continue. The issues include dropped video, half black screen, green patches on screen, and video freezes. Before the last DJI Go app update that changed the appearance of the app, the P3P operated flawlessly since I purchased it around June of 2015. What can I do to fix this issue?

I'm also having the same issues. My firmware on the controller is 1.8.080 and my Drone is 1.9.60 is this ok or should the controller be at 1.9.60

Can I run diffrent firmware on the controller and drone ?

The latest firmware version for controller is 1.8.0.
It's different from the aircraft firmware version.
Could you please clarify what mobile device you are using?

Are you using IOS or Android Tablets/phones?. I always did updates to everything as soon as they came out UNTIL the RC was updated to 1.8....green and blue lines across the screen...massive video lag to the point I could not fly it. Every action has a reaction with these updates. I fly the Advanced and all I did was roll the firmware on the RC back to 1.6 and video feed was perfect. Phantom firmware:1.9.60...RC:1.6 and on my Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet I run the latest 3.01 Go app. The RC 1.8 update has caused headaches for a lot of people ...Cheers bloke !!

I had about the same issue a Week ago.  My drone refused to detect module 08 and 15 after an upgrade to versio 1.9.  I tried EVERYTHING  possible to re-activate this module without any success.
I tried to get a used video board ( on top of the gimball ) without any success either.
The ONLY issue to cure this situation was to BUY a brand spankiing new gimball assy. at the stounding price of 349$ US.

When I installed the NEW gimball, I had the exact same situation for about two hours:  Green screens, Half video screen, erratic video, lost of video and all in between.Now I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN THEIR MIND,  a BRAND NEW module SHOULD work great at install otherwise, there is a SERIOUS problem.......to my 40 years of engineering experience.

I tried the drone yesterday, flight is still '' OKAY '' as fr as I am concerned, I am scrared to fly this bird further than 500 feets because of ALL these issues.  

I have to mention HERE that this DRONE ( Phantom 3 PRO with version 1.8 on the bird and 1.6 on the remote and ALL BAtteries up to date ) was working flawlessly in any way shape or form.   Now, the verisons present on the drone and remote are 1.9 for the bird and 1.8 for the remote

I am soooooo very dissapointed about this,  and almost uncontrolable to the words that could be comming out of my keyboard whe i am talking about this problem, present to very too many people on this Drone world.

Keep me posted please.  i'd really like to know.

In the mean time, keep them flying and keep an eye on them.  SERIOUSLY.

The image above is from my P3P today. I attempted to fly it and experienced the same problems with the video feed that I described earlier.

I also own a new P3A (see details below) that I flew for the first time today without any firmware upgrades at the same location and didn't have any problem with the video feed at all.

My P3A
I am using the same ipad mini 3 for the P3A as I use for the P3P.
App 3.0.2
Aircraft 1.5.30
Remote Controller 1.5.70

However, my upgraded P3P video froze, went to half black screen, and started dropping out and returning.

The video that streams and stores in the DJI GO app doesn't save with the bad video. But, I was able to save a screenshot of the editor with a bad part of the video visible.

Friday, I upgraded both the RC and the aircraft because of this issue. Before and after the upgrade, I continued to have problems with the streaming video.

You need install it through iTunes.
Please install iTunes on your PC then connect your iPad to PC with the USB cable, run iTunes, and install it.
Maybe you could search the instructions online with pictures.

Following. I have the same issue. I was with 1.5 firmware when the issue began and then I updated to 1.9. But the problem it's still there. I'll try to update to 1.9.6. I've noticed that live video interruption comes up especially when I'm recording. If I don't record, live video feed gets better.

I had the same issue, finally figured out it was indeed the latest RC firmware, once I rolled that back and left AC and Android App up to date it works flawless now.

I wasn't successful with rolling back the DJI Go app. I suppose I could jailbreak my iPad to install, but I don't want to break my warranty. I invested 22.00 USD in Litchi, but I had the same problems.
I also tried to roll back my RC firmware. But since there were several updates since I last updated to the latest version, I was not able to successfully achieve this action either. After I tried to roll the RC firmware back, the DJI Go app asked that I update the radio. There was a message that said something like the firmware version didn't match. I tried to start the motors anyway...and they wouldn't start until I restored the RC to the latest firmware.

I started to ask around online and discovered that this problem with video transmission has been going on for a while and it usually starts with updating the app or firmware. I really hate shooting video without seeing what I have until I get home. This is ridiculous that a couple of months ago this product was operating flawlessly and suddenly after several changes with the app and firmware I am left with a flawed DJI Product.

What am I supposed to do now?

Have you tried resetting the two cables on the gimbal? You can get to them to disconnect/reconnect with some long nosed tweezers without having to remove the rubber bushes. This has worked for me and several others here.

Here is my preview from Phantom 3 Pro.    I'cant flight with that view  I tried RC 1.6 and 1.8; DJI GO 3.9.1 and 3.1.0 - Aircraft 1.9.60 My phone is Xiaomi Mi 5 with Snapdragon 820 and 3GB RAM.  In this area I flew many times without any problems with preview.

I urge you to try DrawsWithLight's suggestion of re-seating the gimble cables.  It has worked for me in the past.

DrawsWithLight.....do you find that you have to do this periodically?  It doesn't seem to fix it for good for me...

I suspect that we are not the only ones who have to do this either.  It is really odd that this works don't you think?  I have looked on other forums and found a thread where somone thinks it may be down to heat dissipation from the chips on the board (the fix being putting thermal pads on them).  I think I will try the fix when my warranty period runs out...

Yes the drone should be off and the battery removed. Just unplug the two cables with tweezers and then re-plug them in.

I was getting the issue with iOS so it could well be that yours is a different issue, but it is worth a try as this is a non intrusive potential fix.

We have a great debate on polish DJI drone owners group about this issue, and probably the problem is in some version Android system. We compared our phones - Samsung S7, Xiaomi Mi5 and many other tablets and people who have Android 5.0.5.1 have the best preview even when they using much weaker hardware than top models of Samsung etc. My Android is 6.0 and it sucks

I'll let you know if we confirm this information.
