Hi guys,

I am planning on keeping the gimbal cover until all the talks of spinning and uncontrloabilty are history (thanks to firmware upgrades...)

I was wondering if keeping it during flight would negatively impact the ventilation of the bird's guts...

Indeed, the main aeration vent or fan intake seems to be just behind the gimbal, that would be blocked by the eponymous cover.

Looking forward to your thoughts,

Thanks in advance,

Eloi

It is a valid point. Everything you block that is an intake, will lower cooling performance. Just common sense.

What you could do, is drill a few holes on the sides out of reach of the cameras horizontal angle or not fly on warm conditions with it on.

Even with the cover off, I'm finding the bottom of the drone very warm.

Very warm is ok... When you cannot touch it, that is wrong. Ever felt your phone while playing games? That gets hot!

Just make sure you don't turn it on and let it sit on the ground, less airflow, more heat.
