Hi All,

Shot this video for fun using my X5R and osmo while traveling with my family.
Focus at some points were soft, and at times you can see the steps.  I own the DJI focus but decided
against bringing it on a holiday trip.  Also just picked up the Osmo Axis Raw after seeing the steps.
Anxious to see how much it helps.

This is really good! how did you do the time lapse since iknow its not support in the reg dji app, and on a Technical scale, since your using the "Raw ........how much space did this take up for you and how long did it take to render out etc

1st of all thank you for watching the video and commenting.  

I used a few cameras to get the timelapse footage. 1) The X5R, I actually shot the long exposure timelapse with the 10 second self timer setting shooting to DNG.  2)There's 2 or 3 shots that I used the regular Osmo. 3)I used the Fujifilm XT-2 for two timelapse.

In terms of the X5R footage, I believe I shot around 1 TB worth of shots during the time I was there.  Rough estimate of time to process the files in Da Vinci Resolve was about two days with the grade. The render time out on my 8 core Mac Pro wasn't too bad.  It was 2 1/2 time real time.

It isn't out on YouTube yet.  Just put it up on Vimeo for my friends to check out.

I just did a normal pull out shot from the window.  Then rotated it in post.

That's a nice video with more creative editing than usually see here. I like it, good job!

nice work OP. I am a steadicam operator/owner (15 years) and just recently invested in the x5r and handle plus wireless focus. i do have the z axis thats designed for the x5r and it will help you with your walking.

the main thing you want to do to minimize the steps in your video is to walk in-line, heel/toe heel/toe fashion. use your own arm to counter the bobbing effects and you can achieve better results.

i am still amazed at how well this little device does even when in a layman's hands. very nice.

Thanks for watching and for the tips!  It was difficult at times to do the steadicam walk when there was hundreds of people around you :-)  Was just trying to not get bumped into with the swarms around me.

I get about 20+ minutes per battery.  I also have the battery extender.  When hooked up to my phantom 3 battery it gives me 2 hours.
