Ah yes, Go 3.1.0 has been released, for any or all, of us early adopters. Haha

Hahaha, yeah, true that... Some folks on here have no courage or enough jam, to jump in head first, so they must wait for us brave ones, to proclaim our successful flights... And happiness. Ha

Well, these forums are both informative and scary. My experience with updates is varied too, but always resolved with a combination of install/re-install. Being in the IT software industry for decades, it's an absolute miracle that Any software works consistently between platforms... But hey.

This release at least is supposed to resolve the 'playback flight routes' problem. Nothing really for the P4 otherwise IMHO. Hopefully soon they'll fix DJI Assistant 2 and get rid of it's multiple personalites (the speaking voices) and fix reliability of calibration...

Flying an awesome Phantom 3 Pro', and still have not had any bad downloads. Completely trouble free drone here. Thankfully.

It's amazing to me, all of the different problematic situations some of the folks on here relate. I have not had even one.

And then there are the fixes that are never mentioned, the introduction of "Disable VPS" on the P4 is the most prominent yet.

I feel blessed as well. Nothing serious has ever happened. A few days ago, the GO app informed me an update was available. I downloaded and installed something like v1.09.xxxx

Once the update was complete - only took about 10 - 15 minutes - I went back outside. The GO app informed me that the RC needed to be updated and it started almost immediately. That's the loudest beeping I think I've ever heard from my P3Pro.

After about 5 minutes or so, the RC was updated and I was back in business. I didn't bother to read what updates supposedly took place.

The only change I've seen lately is a warning and I had to "check" a couple of boxes. Apparently I'm considered more or less on the "border line" of our local GA airport and it's cautioning me to fly safely.

Running with all the latest updates, the latest iOS available on a iPad mini. I bought the iPad because (a) there seems to be less reported problems than with Android devices and the iPad Mini was the largest tablet that would fit in an unmodified holder (on the remote controller).

My iPad Air2 Cellular fits the Inspire device holder just fine. A couple of clicks, locks it in place. ;-)

The original device holder wasn't adequate. It wiggled and wobbled, just like a brazen belly dancer. Haha
There was never going to be a "happy ending" with all of that jiggling going on... ;-)

If you sync your flight records, you could actually delete the Go app, reinstall it, then resynch, and your flight records will come back..

Wonder what became of iOS versions 3.03, 3.04, 3.0.5...3.0.9 to arrive at 3.1.0?

Something like the missing Windows 9 perhaps?
They jumped ahead, purposely, to one, that works, for everybody... Ha

Previous version (3.0.2) works fine on my iPhone 5 and iPad 4th Generation, despite the fact that both devices were not officially considered to be compatible. With 3.1.0, it seems DJI is enforcing that requirement, so you need at least an A7 processor (iPhone 5S, iPad Air, iPad Mini 2) or it won't install/update.

Assuming that was a serious question, software developers typically use a versioning system to reflect level of release e.g. <major release>.<minor release>.<fix>
DJI probably jumped from 3.0.x to 3.1.x to reflect new code for Mavic and P4P.

Yes, DJI run the show, and others meekly follow...

So they can make arbitrary decisions that we can either abide by, or join another competing flight team!! ;-)

It isn't simple, but go back a year (maybe more) here on the forum. On the one hand there will be a lot of posts about what a bunch of idiots there are working for DJI, poor customer service, flyaways, etc.

As you come to present day, you see some of the same complaints (different people, different model drone) but the diff now is that it's obvious DJI is dominating the market.

I began my pursuit yesterday to look into what's involved with Part 107 and flying for money - not that it means I'll actually do it! I called a relatively large dealer and talked a few minutes. In the airplane biz you have things like MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure), your craft and engine have to be inspected (and approved) annually and there are schedules for how often your engine must be overhauled - varies from plane to plane.

Many of these numbers (if not most) are just not available, generally because their isn't much product life, although the dealer *did* say that he has customers who are still flying Vision+ and loving it.

In a pre-flight, it's virtually impossible for probably 99%+ to inspect motors, ESCs, etc.. The dealer laughed and opined that most users will have moved on to a more current model before experiencing failure in a craft.

Apparently, when the FAA got really serious about drone laws they got *lots* of comments after publishing their NPRM. There are still some pieces of what has ultimately become Part 107 in court. We're going to have a change in administration in Washing in a couple of months. Many things will probably not change! We've really learned how to perpetuate some of our bureaucracies!

I agree. I even had the misfortune the other day to lose my SD card. Still can't figure out how it came out. Somewhere along the way, the latching mechanism must have failed and the card popped out. When I tried to take a video, nothing happened. Then, when I tried a photo, I received the "no SD card" info - which, BTW, was pretty difficult to make go away!

I loaded up a smaller spare card I had around, dumped my latest .bin into the root dir and the thing was back in business. I was kind of surprise that it went so smoothly.

Lost sd card, Oh no, you didn't?  That would be a bummer, for anyone. Nearly impossible to recover.
I hope that it was relatively empty, so you haven't lost too much valuable video footage or stills...

Perhaps you hadn't pushed it in far enough to make the locking mechanism engage properly, for it to stay put.

Being that it has been so talked about, negatively, perhaps that will have to be reevaluated.
Hopefully, we can have a better representation for naps, than what has been presented to us, most recently.

Surely somebody will have a light go off, and reverse this situation...

These various drones should each have their own Go app, much like they have for individual firmware versions ;-)

Well, it was a moderate-cost 64GB card, so I lost that much money. Fortunately, I discovered pretty quickly that there was no SD card in the bird. That's probably the last time I'll go out without at least one backup card, just in case!

Have to add that to my checklist!

Yes, I bought a 64gb sd card as well. I still have the stock 16gb sd card, which I mostly use only for firmware updates.

Not sure how many more of those in the future, the Phantom 3 Pro' will see.

Limited for sure.
