Sorry, meant to direct this to you, Ken, via one of your posts. This is cut and pasted from an earlier post of mine. Note that in my other post in the 5th paragraph, I meant to write Mavic Pro 2, not Mavic Pro. I have corrected that here.
=====
Evening, Ken.
Well, this keeps getting "interestinger and interestinger." Can you distill down for me a comparison between the Mavic and the Phantom 4 Pro?
An easy starter question is, does the P4 Pro have everything the Mavic has and more? Or, are there Mavic features that are not available with the P4 Pro? But, what else can you tell me re pros and cons?
And, in the spirit of "fool me once shame on DJI, fool me twice shame on me," what can be believed about DJI's claims of availability and shipping for the P4 Pro? And, since DJI has lost credibility with respect to direct orders (not being snarky, just an honest observation), when will the P4 Pro be available through tier one re-sellers, and through Amazon?
When will we see an upward avoidance sensor on either the P4 Pro or Mavic? (And, when will we see the rear and sideways sensors on the Mavic?)
Moreover, I’ve seen references to a Mavic Pro 2 and a Phantom 5 already on the horizon. The latter being referenced as to be available in March. The former having no specific release referenced, though presumably next year. What can you tell me about this? Because of the coming winter, I am within only a couple weeks of not being able to fly a drone until next spring, so waiting for future or updated models is a real option.
Finally, there is no shortage of videos available, including on DJI's site, that either show or suggest flights being made that are clearly beyond visual sight. (For both the Mavic and now the P4 Pro.) Can you reconcile that for me with respect to the FAA's requirement that unassisted (except for corrective eyeglasses) line of sight must be maintained? |
