My wife works for a great company that makes custom cases.  They used our drone for pictures and measurements and we got a free case!  I know a lot of people say a case isnt needed for a mavic but I disagree depending on needs.  We go wheeling in SoCal and I didnt want it bouncing around in the back of my jeep! plus all the dust, water and mud that ends up inside sometimes.  I cant give out to many details at the moment, but as soon as I can I will come back at give all the details. This isnt a cheapo case, this company makes cases for military. Water and dust proof and had to withstand being driven over by a military truck.

That case is amazing. Looks great and well protected.

The two spots for extra batteries are going to be empty for a while.

I did buy it because it was portable. That's the best feature about it. We go out wheeling and camping in a small Jeep Wrangler and space is limited. This case is only slightly bigger then the box it came in and I don't have to worry about it getting crushed in the back seat.

So we should just buy a pelican case? Cool.

Pelican cases are cheap in my opinion. This company uses SKB cases. The latches on a pelican case suck.

I believe sams club in USA is selling these cases for $20 (the knockoff pelican 1400, I believe) will you offer/sell just a set of foam W/O a case or with case and foam only? If so, put me down for a set.

It looks to me that the case foam could use another cut-out slot for things like extra props and cables.  I understand the need to keep things small, but you also want to have everything in one place.

My wife went back to work today with some notes.  She thinks they might offer a slightly deeper case also that will allow the batteries to stand up giving a lot bigger area for accessories (blades, cables, memory cards and such) this was just a free prototype for allowing them to use it for pictures and measurements.

How can you not understand these cases are 1/4 to 1/5th the size of the Phantom cases and it's not flopping around in a bag that's the same size as these hard cases.

I have a phantom and I have a phantom, if that case is the same size as the box the Mavic arrived in then it is almost the same length as as the box my phantom arrived in except it's about half the depth, so 1/5 th size is wrong.

great cause until you get more accessories. I opt'd to go with a camera bag (Case Logic Reflexion FMX-101). I've order some ND filters, will be taking me iPad Mini on occasions, Anker 20,000mAh battery for charging on the go, lightning and USB-* cables, micro-fiber cloth, etc. I feel as if over time my accessories will grow. My bag is only 12inches in length and blends in well, I feel (just personal and in the US) a hard case would get a lot of questions asked when carrying around.

I have four pelican cases sitting under my Phantom 3 aluminum pre cut case and they are boxed waiting for Mavics and take up 2" more than the phantom 3 case.
No I did not get out my calculator to come to that conclusion but I think people get what I'm saying.

Because of portability of Mavic, I don't like a case for it. I can put it in glove box and batteries are going to armrest box.
