I called my local Apple Store yesterday and asked if they had the Mavic in stock, the woman sounded very unsure and said no. The online system said available January 15th, but due to all of these random pick ups that people are coming across, I went ahead and walked in today and guess what they had!? Only 1 in stock!! I originally preordered from Best Buy on October 25th, but today I got it! I still can't believe it! My advice to anyone still waiting - just go to the Apple store and check in person

I can confirm this. I am located in Southern California and just picked up a Mavic today even though the online stock web page said no stock.

The Mavic was not out on the store floor. I spoke to an employee and he went in the back and got it for me.

Glad to finally have a Mavic. I hope that people will see this thread and not go trigger happy with reselling though.

Just picked up another Mavic Pro here in Jacksonville Florida. Apple store at St. John's Town Center. They had two in stock.

Got lucked out at the emeryville store but got lucky at the Walnut Creek store.  

Some advise:  call Apple Store and ask for manager to check if they have any in stock or if any new deliveries have been made.

Same here! Checked the Apple stores online and one was available in Rochester, NY. Called up to purchase it and picked it up an hour later.

I didnt believe it either until payment went through and I got the email to pick it up. I don't need to waste my time proving it to anyone. It's your choice to believe or not. Those who are picking them up in Apple stores around the country know that I am telling the truth. Not sure it's worth 1000$...the camera could be much better. No 1080. If you don't need portability then cancel and get a p4. The video is not the greatest when flying fast and low. I have to fly it more before I really pass judgement. Hope you get yours soon

I bought the 2nd one at that same store.  It was the apple store at the UTC mall in Sarasota.  When I got there there was only one left.  Thank you for the heads up.  Can't wait to fly this thing in the morning.

It was because of this posting that I started checking Apple stores near me.  Walked in during my lunch break on Thursday and one and only one was being offloaded from the FedEx truck as I waited.  Super excited and cancelled my Amazon pre-order as soon as I got back to my car.

Just picked mine up. Ordered October 13th ship to store. Apple store Ft Worth  Tx.

Same experience. Mine (with the Apple Store expected date of Jan 19th, initially) showed up unexpectedly Nov 28th. I finally got time to pick it up 12/7. So—in hindsight—I probably would have/should have skipped my preorder with my local camera store (and 3 weeks with cash tied up there) and just gone to Apple directly, instead.
