I've seen multiple times now where some people have not only been lucky to get 1 mavic but have purchased extra ones so that they can sell for a profit.

I know i'm banging my head against a brick all but I find it deplorable. Trying to profit from people who just want to get their hands on one. Why not just buy one and don't take an extra one so that one more customer can get them at a fair price?

I ended up selling my Mavic + Fly More Combo with DJI care for $3520. And ended up buying another Mavic alone for $1300. Dont hate the player, hate the game. This is part of economics. People with money get what they want. And you get mad lol.

Its unfortunate but people will do what they want. I found a Mavic at an Apple store and will be keeping it rather than profitting. To each his own.

LOL, im sure if i even kept my first one it would not make a difference of when you will get yours, You may even get yours sooner since these people with money are buying at  higher prices and probably cancelling their orders which would move you closer to receiving your Mavic so you can fly your drone and quit crying.

I don't think a lot of people ares tupid enough to buy them... only if there is a valid reason like going on a trip and you really need to mavic.

Completely agree with the OP, but that is life... it has happened with so many hot items that are released just prior to the holiday shopping season. I remember N64 when I was like 12 and I was so worried my mom wouldn't be able to find one for Xmas. If you are patient you normally get what you want without overpaying.  The problem is really the people buying them at these ridiculous prices, not the sellers, who are creating this frenzy around the mavic causing people who don't even know anything about drones to want one, or some people creating a demand by placing multiple pre-orders at every store they can find.

Seriously...  I've actually seen those prices being paid on eBay.

I have no problem with someone selling an extra Mavic for $5,000.  It's the people who buy them that worries me.
We live in a microwave (gotta have it now) society.
Next March, would you rather be the proud owner of a new Mavic with all the hardware kinks worked out for $1,000, or would you rather be one of those who got the early, rushed production batch for $5,000.
Better yet, how would you like to be the owner of the new Mavic Pro 2+ with 5 direction obstacle avoidance  and crystalsky with HDMI outputs next May?
DJI rushed the release of Mavic becasue they thought they would lose customers to the Karma. My P4 will get me through this winter craze.

I don't see the issue with profiting off of a high demand item. This is a free market society. What is wrong with someone seeing an opportunity to make legal extra cash and taking it? Secondly, no one is going to die if they don't get a Mavic as soon as possible. I don't see why people are whining over what is essentially a high end toy. This post just the me the wrong way, it sounds like jealousy.

This is a market created by DJI. Why not discuss it here? Their less-than-honourable business practices are really to blame. It's been reported on other threads that you can go into an Apple store and walk out a mavic owner, while many loyal customers have been waiting almost two months.

I'm still on the fence but I might sell my mavic pro combo at 100 dollars over cost just to pay for shipping and handling. It has a handful of flights with ZERO issues. I ordered the p4pro and don't really need the mavic. Anyone in the United States with PayPal respond if your interested.

By your logic an old antique car would always have to sell for less than when it was new.  
Price gouging is when the price gets jacked after special occurrences on items people must have.    Like bread or gas after a flood or hurricane.   
Scalping ticket prices, selling toy drones, etc. just falls under "if you gotta have it that bad it's going to cost this much to do it right now."
The answer is simple, wait or act faster next time.

The best way to deal with all venture capitalists on ebay, open a new account and buy up all the mavics at whatever cost, then just sit there till the account is closed due to non payment, then repeat the process, eventually you'll end up with a bunch of people with drones that have not sold, they may even have more than one, the tide of capitalism will then turn and you'll have mavics worth no more than cost price....

Come on,this is simple math.Supply vs demand.This has been going on since the beginning of time.On top of it nobody is twisting anyones arm to buy it.I dont fault anyone for doing this.Every high demand item goes like this exactly.
