I think we need to get DJIs attention with this, please feel free to vote.


I don't know why someone would ever want HERE Maps, they are so outdated and everything is cloudy in Gfx.

Maybe it has something to do with the new P4Ps Obstacle Smart RTH? If so, DJI needs to be honest about this, not just throw in HERE Maps and don't care at all about that decision.

Seems like that would be a poor reason for smart obstacle RTH if HERE maps are not very up to date.

I think this is their way of trying to "shrink" the go app

lesser resolution = less memory/storage data transfer etc...

Oh by the way, my maps haven't changed. Still have the three views, including a 3D map.It seems, Canada, isn't on board, with Here Maps. Ha

DJI will release alot of new Versions of the DJI Go App and sometimes it will be NECESSARY to update, like for example when you buy a P4Pro, you will need to update, because you can't use your P4Pro then..

This downgrade only works for now, but after we get our P4Pro we need to update. (And also for Bug Fixed we would need to update.)

I dont have a Mac, and don't really use it. The key is to get the program opened and "enable breakpoints" so that it will interrupt the request when you download. Open Charles on Mac and see if that option exists. if it does, see if you can then follow my steps.

So for me, I won't be getting a p4 pro, nor will i be upgrading. I'm sticking to my p3p .. it does what i need and how i need it So its no issue. For the rest, keep complaining .. these deals are business deals, make it bad business for DJI!

Thanks digdat. I spent last evening getting the older versions and syncing my phone. I'm on 2.9.2 with my ipad and have had good luck with it since it's release but I did carelessly update my phone. All good now. Much appreciated.

Wow, no matter where you look on the planet, it's OLD IMAGERY. I'm talking about large cities that are constantly updated on Google!
At maximum zoom (zoomed in all the way), the resolution is horrible and not suitable. With all of the capabilities of these drones, the switch to HERE MAPS is low tech.

With a marketing driven company, the profit motive causes products to be rushed out the door, sometimes before they are ready.  Or this old mapping may be a means to introduce a DJI friendly alternative to Google.

Supply side drivers are not listening.  They know what's best for us.  You will like it.  ;)

MOST USERS WANT GOOGLE MAPS. PLEASE DJI, UPGRADE THE APP!!!

OK, Now I'm on Windows 10. No luck. After edit buyProduct and Execute tried to initiate download again iTunes give me message Can't process a request Error code: 5105

Never even heard of HERE maps. Google will be the most accurate by far

re-search for DJI go and in Charles, "enable breakpoints" .. then start the download. it shoudl interrrupt it, edit that text and hit execute. It will prompt again, execute .. will be asked for password, enter and then if asked to execute again, do it twice. I think if you re-search, it should work

Tried many time, alway the same, iTunes give me an error code: 5105 if click download after breakpoint

I really hope we get Google Maps back.

I've just had a quick look at those "Here" maps, they are very out of date and low resolution, not really fit for purpose. This will be pretty bad PR for DJI, how can they use such poor and out of date maps with such a cutting edge product.

I wander if this is a cost cutting exercise?

It'd be great if someone from DJI would step in here with an answer to why they changed it.

.saving in my opinion
GO getting to big and bulky,
I bet the memory to cache maps is way less with HERE MAPS
since resolution etc so much lower it would not need much of the above

The only time I have ever heard of Here Maps before this was an app on my Samsung Gear S smartwatch. The maps were very buggy and low-res there also. Not to mention, it would get 3 out of 5 addresses wrong.

I fly through my neighborhood, and stay over the streets so that I do not bother my neighbors. With this new Here maps, the mini map has become absolutely worthless and a waste of screen space. Why would I want to see a mini map of a section of map that has nothing to do with me, or my drone?!? If it doesn't stay centered on the drone, there's no reason to have it take up screen space.

I'm a pilot, and use Garmin Pilot for my flight computer. It has a moving map that shows terrain and other valuable aeronautical and navigation data on the map. How worthless would that be if it didn't follow me as I was flying?!?

Maps need to be current for setting waypoints.  Trees get planted and grow, and buildings go up creating unpleasant things to run into.  The "Apple Maps" on my iOS are very old and houses are where flat fields were.  Okay, poles, street lights, and trees too.

Sadly with most of the places I fly there are no readable HERE maps.  So , I use Litchi 99% of the time with their robust google maps.

I just loaded up the new go4 app. The maps are way out of date and extremely poor quality. We need Google maps back as everyone here already states.

I love the huge H E R E written across the tiny map window.  Makes it even MORE useless.

And this is the very reason why DJI had no business moving onto the P4P and the P4P+ The APP is unstable and the Firmware Updates just make it worse. Oh and it will need to be sent in for Evaluation.

Thread after thread after thread i have read so much my eyes hurt and nothing has changed.

Samsung users should have the option to choose Google Maps or Here mays that has woods where my house sits. ?????
Google Maps for Samsung.  Google Maps stay updated.  Samsung users are important to. Our money we spend is just as good as Apple users.

I have a P3 Advance and Pro. Went back to 2.9.1 App to get my Google map back and take care of my fly off map Problems.

Erm, so how do we monitor our safe, legal flight paths if our evidence of location shows us flying next to or even over/through buildings that don't exist?
