I was up about 350 feet and flying into the sun when I could no longer move forward due to Obstacle Avoidance.  I could not continue to fly forward. At 350', there was definately nothing around, no birds either. Thing is tho... this was like afternoon when the sun was still pretty high in the sky; not like flying directly into the sun an hour or two before sunset. I hope they fix this soon.  Appearantly this is a fairly common complaint over on the other forum. http://mavicpilots.com/threads/m ... eet-up-in-sun.1593/ Has anyone else here experienced the same thing? Anyone contact tech support about this? I hope they address this in a firmware update.

Yea, I get the same thing when flying into the bright sun.  Slip it into sport mode and it isn't a problem.

Have seen something similar although only for a split second.

It's normal. According to manual, VPS is compromised when flying in too dark (lux <10 ) or too bright (lux > 100000) area .  

Same thing happened to me but it turned out to be a cloaked ufo.

Out of interest - why would you engage obstacle avoidance when there are no obstacles? use this feature when you have to. Makes flying lots faster.

I'm new at this and was just flying in P-Mode. It was my first flight going over 300 feet. lol

yes, I'll do that next time. this was one of my first flights, was actually streaming on Facebook live, and it kinda freaked me out. I was a little distracted and wasn't thinking about the sun causing the problem at the time.

@DJI Mindy I didn't make a screen shot so I can't do that.  I'll try to remember if it happens again, but it just said soothing like obstacle avoidance warning. It was beeping and stopped moving forward.  While I have your attention. Is it possible to request a way to mute the return to home beeping.  It is awful!

I have been getting OV issues myself when facing the sun, and my Mavic just stops, the only way to get going is to back up slightly then try to go forward again, at times I've had to fly backwards to get home, I can tell it's because of the sun because I can turn 90 degrees from it and everything is fine, but as soon as it's facing it it does it again and again! Can the forward sensors be adjusted in anyway? I don't have this problem with my Phantom 4 or Phantom 4 Pro, only my Mavic does this???

It happened to me on a cloudy day.

I have been getting OV issues also when facing the sun during RTH. This is really a problem...

Get the same Obstacle Avoidance block with DJI Spark in hot sun: Suddenly it cannot fly forward. Please correct this DJI (Set sensitivity a little down)

I have had this a few times but just put it into sports mode and it goes away.
