To any  any DJI employees here, what are the chances of a firmware update in the future to allow us more control over the bitrate?

I understand that the maximum bitrate is 60Mbps which in the opinion of many is too low for 4k. I accept that maximium and that it probably can't be increased, but why can't we still record at 60Mbps when in 2.7k or 1080p? This would give us much better qaulity as it would allow for the footage to be more loosly compressed.

I had a chat with DJI about this.. here's what I was able to get:

- 60 mbps is a constant bit rate
- it will record at 60 mbps at 4k on either PAL or NTSC
- the bit rate will remain at 60 mbps at lower resolutions (I specifically asked about 2.7k)
- compression (rate?) is not lower when recording at resolutions lower than 4k (i.e., 2.7k)

They couldn't give me an explanation of why for this last point, hehe ("too complicated")

So I can have 2.7K @ 60mbps... right?

that is how i interpreted it.

It's not about if new features can be made introduced into the Mavic Pro with new firmware, it's whether DJI would like to make these new features available to use in the Mavic Pro or have those new features in the second revision of the Mavic, the Mavic Pro 2 instead.

The Mavic Pro can easily handle what you would like. It's all up to DJI on what it can do.

The 4k quality is not the best, but it's not bad either. However if you downsize the 4k video to 1080, it looks fantastic.

Still, I think for the size of the Mavic and its capabilities, I don't have much to complain about.

2.7k is only 45Mbit on the Mavic.

I see no reason they can't improve their codec to get us 60Mbit at this resolution. It's not a deal breaker but it just arbitrary, and so annoying.
