Yeah, received this as an email at 12pm Eastern on the 22nd.  Personally I feel you should have used the resources who programmed  the pick a color give-away to access your order database and send projected ship times to the people who are waiting over 50 days for their preordered Mavic Pros. As it stands, how many people do you think will be taking advantage of your sales event since they're already disgusted with the way DJI is handling communications with the preorders.

Well, I only have one try out of three.

Crap Frankly They owe everyone of us still waiting on their Mavic something with out hoping for a dang color!!  It would be nice if they would provide us some free insurance for us Beta Testers, as they have most of us seeing RED!!  Just Saying!!

I'm a bit confused here with the Black Friday sale price on some items. I know. Everyone should be happy to get some discount. But on the Phontom 3 professional price is a lot wrong. It was sold the last couple weeks for $999 including a free battery in the online store. Now it is advertised for $799 instead $1,259? Sorry DJI! That's a discount of only $200 only if the free battery is still included. If not - it's not a deal.

I tried yesterday 11/22 and then today 11/23 and the site tells me "The chance of today's lucky draw has been used, please try again tomorrow."

My guess is that DJI is using an ancient Chinese water clock in their garden that needs calibration or sumtin.



Oh and my "lucky" color is blue. I gonna contact support, my favorite color is green.

Am I right the this Black Friday thing will only provide discounts on old/existing drones and not the new ones such as P4P or I2?

I don't even understand what I'm competing for. What do the different colors mean? If I get purple will that give me a certain percentage off on anything I want? Will it give me a great deal I something that I don't care about at all? I actually want to buy an Osmo Mobile, but if I get a discount for anything related to the Phantom 4, that's going to be a huge let-down.

Correct.  On a mavic favebook page someone asked everyone to report their color and if they won.

About 40 individuals replied so far.  None of them won.

Well it distracts from inability to fullfill Mavic orders from September - what more do you want.

The problem is that DJI come from China and no US so they don't feel the "Black Friday" as should be.... Also they are feeling the only company on the market due the issue on the GoPro karma...

I've green too... no chance to win and I'm angry about.. Please someone share a proof that is possible to win!

Have the same issue. I tried yesterday morning and now it says that I can't try it please try again tomorrow? Must be a flood in China and this water clock isn't working??

Here's my impression of the event.

1) It's a 3 day event, but we weren't told about it until the second day.
2) We don't really know what the prizes are. For all we know, we'll win, but get something we don't want.
3) Winning is rare. We have no idea how rare, so we pessimistically feel like it doesn't ever happen.

Here's are some suggestions for future events.

1) Everyone is told about the event a few days in advance. That way people who don't visit the store or the forum every day will have a better chance to learn about it and be there when it begins. This is good for DJI, it will get some people to come back more often.
2) Prizes are clarified in advance. Don't just say there will be discounts, tell us what the exact awards are so we know if it is worth the effort. We can get excited if we know that something we want is possible.
3) The prizes are something that everyone can use. It can be store credit, even if it tops out at a certain percentage of the price. It could also be a coupon that has three different options. Not everyone wants a Phantom battery, and not everyone wants an Osmo, but give us a few options and we can probably pick something we like.
4) Always give a prize. Even just giving 50 of these forum dollars that we get for posting would be *something*. A tiny pat on the back for participating goes a long way.

Are the Phantom 3 batteries going on sale? and if so, for how much? I just got a Phantom 3 4K for my B-Day (and I absolutely love it!), but I want to get a second battery, and the batteries are really expensive.

Tested this.

Created several dozen dummy accounts (via coded macro and guerrillamail.com < sorry for being shady DJI, but someone had to try it), loaded the page in incognito  and played the roulette on each account. None of them got anything other than the color pictures.

The odds of winning are either < 1% or more likely we'll get something tomorrow...
