I've been seeing that in order to fit the iPhone into the Mavic remote (i have 6s), you need to take it out of the case.   I am not into doing that.
i am thinkging about getting a dedicated ipod touch just to use for Mavic flying.  They are cheap enough and probably can pick up a new one with good black friday deals.

is it worth it?  Is iPod touch compatible?

Good Quesiton - I am also interested in this solution... I assume a phone antenna/wifi isn't needed as it is plugged into the remote??

I didn't like removing my phone out of my case, so I hooked up an iPad to it.  With the setup from my post, you can mount almost any tablet of phone ....

No need, since Google maps can cache an area of map data.

I am a newborn quad pilot. And have a few questions. Could someone please let me know what the best screen/viewer/controller is, for the Mavic? I do not really want to buy a new iphone. I currently am using a Nokia Lumia 650 Windows Phone. Will this phone work? If not what would be the best option until the Crystal Sky is actually released? I mean come on DJI, you can't put out pictures, functions etc...of a product, and get my hopes up only not to have it available for order.

Do you have some more info. How do you know it's coming "soon"?  It could be months for all we know, right? Dji goggles were announced two months ago. We haven't hear boo since.

Don't know when it's going to be released,

I'm interested in quite a few DJI products that have been announced. Crystalsky, DJI goggles, advanced charging hub for Mavic. I don't want then to slow down production of the Mavic to get these other products out since I feel bad for those who don't have one yet, but I wish they would just communicate a little better and give a realistic availability date.

Went to Apple to look at the iPod touch and the screen may be too small.

The controller is made to hold the iPad Mini without modification (that's what the slots are for) the only thing you need is a longer cable.
