Anyone expierincing issues with the gimbal spinning uncontrollably? I can get it to repeat if I choose portrait mode but every time it does it I have to recalibrate the gimbal as it's horizon is all screwed up. DJI says I have to send it back... I just got it and flew it twice, what gives?!

I have a similar issue. I was flying the Mavic and the twice the gimble freaked out and snapped around. But the next flight 5 mins later it seemed ok but had some shake in it.
I was flying the drone in a bit of wind 25km/h or about that, would that cause the gimble to become unstable and snap around like that?
I will try to post the video later.

Hi Cluc

I did see that video before and inspected my Mavic and all the gimble parts are where they should be. Both front retainers and the back one.

So what you are saying is high wind can make the gimble snap around like that? Have you or anyone else had this happen to them?

I did have a bit of a hard landing but everything on the gimble seems to look and function fine.

Thanks,
Chris

I haven't receive my Mavic yet so cant confirm.

But from the videos I've seen, most of them are due to crashes or hard landings, I don't think the wind can blow it off it's position. (The wind can make it wobble)

Might be a good idea to have a look, it could just be a simple "shift it back to place" :-)

Check if mounted correctly.
Then turn it on upside down. Let it initialise.
Then flip it over and do the gimbal calibration.

You have done all the basic troubleshooting, right?
If still no improvement, I'd suggest you to send it in for further evaluation.

Really frustrating... only 2 flights both perfect and soft landings.... flights 4,5,6 all this freak out issue. There is no issue with the plate all rubber bands are intact. Nothing appears off. I can force it to freak out if I hit "portrait mode" other wise it does it intermittently...

Called DJI did everything they said and now they tell me I have to send it in after only having it a week! I think I'd rather return it to apple and get a new one.

Are you hoping for someone telling you there is no problem with your drone?
Just accept it, you have a faulty one and will have to send it back. It sucks but there is nothing else you can do.
You said something about returning it to apple and get a new one... do you really believe they have a secret stock laying around just for people who want a replacement?

Sorry for the late reply.
Have you contacted the tech support and send it in for fixing?
