Hi , have just gotten a brand new P4 with the GL300C remote control , when fully charged i am getting only 3 led indicators lit up (should this not be all 4??) on first start up, the fourth indicator does come on so i know the led works , took out today for a fly started with 3 leds and didnt even get thru 60% of drone battery and have remote controller battery low warning.

Hi Driller35, please try to full charge it again.

  I let the RC battery drain down to nil and trying a full recharge as i type, the last hour it has just been stuck on the first led blinking, advanced to the second led and after a couple of minutes no more indication from leds, unplugged and plugged back in does the same, turn on DJI Go App showing RC battery at 17 %, recorded a short video ,rc battery now 16% and indicators turned off , can unplug and plug back in and within 15 secs light indicators go off

so after my last message , unplugged RC at 16%, go for supper and decide i,ll replug in , now shows three led lights ,so now curious as to what it would show for battery charge ,so fire up Go App and now showing 63% , but only does cycle of lights for about 10 seconds and finished

Tryed leaving charge overnight and only get 64% , put in a Problem Report and go from there

If you tried a full discharge and recharge and the issue persists, you may want to contact support@dji.com in order to get the RC sent in for service.

Thanks Jamie, i have contacted and initiated RC controller low battery warning comes on before the Phantom  bird low battery warning , should be able to fly thru a number of Bird batteries before seing this

It should, which means that there is most likely a battery issue with the RC. You should be up and running again in no time once you receive a response from support.

Gotcha.. just checking.. trying to rule out everything. Thought maybe it was causing the battery error because it was trying to charge your tablet as well.
