Something to check: did you also install Litchi? On some phones (like my Galaxy S5) they both don't work if they are both installed. This is also mentioned on the Litchi site (took me one day to find out...)

I've got a Galaxy S7 Edge that was just updated to Android 7 and the newest DJI Go 4.03 and have no problems. I had no problems with the previous versions of Android or the DJI Go app. I hope you get it straightened out soon.  I don't think that there is a problem with the S7 and the Mavic or Go app in particular. Bad luck maybe.

Please make sure if the phone s7 edge and the controller are both fully charged before fly, and also fast charge disabled... maybe that is the reason why some s7 works fine (full charged) and not others

Android users have SO many issues.
It's why I bought a used Ipad Mini. Not that I LOVE Apple products (I never owned a Mac), but the fact that you have ONE manufacturer, common firmware, common hardware, common software...all from SAME manufacturer.  Means its EASY for developers to target that one platform/offerings from that ONE vendor.

Android? sure.. Great. Nice. Open source of sorts. But a billion different devices, manufacturers, vendors, etc. No way any company like DJI can be sure their software works 100% consistently on all those androids.

But for Apple devices? The app works flawlessly for me

Man, I have been having the same problems.  Perhaps buying a device dedicated to the purpose of flying the mavic is the best solution, Any suggestions??

yes, like @fans90d4f438 said....i bought iPad mini 4 too for mavic...

I also bought a used ipad mini 4 will cellular  (no service ) because I had issues with the Go app crashes on my nvidia shield tablet. I know can use the Mini 4 to fly both my mavic and my inspire 1 with the Go app and the Go app 4.

Wow, DJI STILL screwing up on the compatibility thing?

I held off for a long time getting the Mavic as I was having problems with the Go app and my S6, and now I've changed to the S7 the same problems coming up still?

As for buying another phone, just to suit the small, handy, portable drone, that' rather defeats the purpose of having a small, handy and portable drone, doesn't it?

It seems rather hit or miss.  My S7 (non-edge) works almost flawlessly.  I've only ever had one crash in all my flying, and it was more like someone just pressed the home button... not really a crash.  On my phone, that same thing has happened with other apps, so it's hard to blame DJI for that one.  At the same time, other people are super unhappy.  My perception is that the Verizon version is way better than the ATT version for whatever reason, but that's purely anecdotal, so maybe it's something else.  I tweak my phone a lot so maybe I have some magical settings that keep everything working, or maybe I just don have a lot of other stuff causing problems.  I resist believing that I'm just one of the lucky ones.  In fact, it's much more like there are a handful of unlucky ones that are louder, because people without problems don't post as they are busy flying.

I have read somewhere that the Home Button is located so close to the edge of the S7E that the Mavic controller presses it, causing the app to close.

After software update on S7 Egde the resolution of the screen has changed by default. Max resolution on S7 causing problems (and battery draining). Downgrade the resolution to FHD 1920 x 1080 and problem solved.

Wow, thanks a lot ! This solved all my S7E problems :-)

Well. A bit to fast. After changing the screen I had to delete the DJI 4 app and reinstall. After that everything is working perfect for me with Samsung S7 edge and latest version of DJI 4.

Yes I'm on the last 4.1.6 and it works perfectly on the S7 Edge only some lag after 15 min of flight but you simply exit and open again the app and everything back to normal

there's got to be something in the settings to prevent charging!  

My setup is S7 Edge, last-updated, with cable connected to central connector.
First part of the flight is always good, starts lagging after about 15 minutes.
It's like if DJI GO4 is consuming all the CPU/Memory resources of the phone, the whole phone becomes unresponsive.
Have to investigate if it happens after using intelligent flight mode or after stopping/restarting video recording or what else.
Still didn't flight so much to notice a match.
Anyway by my experience DJI GO4 has some bug on S7 Edge.

I am using it. it works fine. I got a message about the screen resolution.
. I solved the resolution message, by changing the screen resolution of the phone. Changed from 2560x1440 to 1920x1080. The screen resolution message did not appear anymore, and all is working fine.

New guy here.

I will be trying my Mavic Pro this weekend, with my S7.  Hope it works !!

All ready in deep trouble because of buying the Mavic!!
