Bad jello and Tilted Horizon

Guys,

Hopefully someone can help me here.

Take a look at my video:



I have a very tilted horizon and bad Jello. I have calibrated the gimbal on steady/level surfaces many times and nothing, calibrated the IMU's and nothing, jello is still there and the tilted gimbal sometimes is fixed by panning or yawing in a different direction but comes back shortly after. I am using the setting right below 4k for video.

Should i request a replacement? I am very please with the mavic's handling and features but VERY dissapointed with the gimbal!!

People have reported bad jello on 1080p60 but I haven't heard anything on 2.7K. I've had this issue in the past on other drones (DJI most frequently unfortunately) - there is no calibration that's going to fix it in my experience. If you're absolutely sure you have a rock solid IMU and gimbal calibration, then yes, I'd reach out to DJI to get this sent back for repair/replacement.

Try a cold IMU followed by gimbal calibration, this worked well with P4 .
Make sure you do IMU on a very level surface..

I too had a major jello effect and noticed the rear gimbal tab was on top of the seat. I moved the gimbal forward allowing the rear tab to go below the seat and now it works perfectly.

When you have the drone upside down and looking under the gimbal are you saying the rear gimbal tab is below or on top of the seat just for clarity?

Have you removed the gimbal cover? You're always flying it at P mode, right? BTW, the firmware is up to date, right? how about the performance after you double check it and re-calibrate it?

Gimbal cover and plastic seat both removed. Flying in GPS (not sport) Firmware os up to date.

After much testing and troubleshooting on my own I found that recording in 1080P/60fps is the only recording mode I don't get jello. The tilted horizon I fixed. So at first I calibrated the gimbal once or twice, when take off it all seems leveled untill I make a 180 turn, then starts tilting on its own as you can see in the video, the I tried calibrating in different directions, for instance posting north, calibrate then south calibrate. It does however comes back, the calibrations does not last long.

The jello is my biggest disappointment, I checked and checked and there is nothing wrong with the seating, dampers or anything I can visually inspect. It's a bummer I really lik the mavic but not sure what to do at this point.

Any ideas?

I looked closely at the gimbal seat and the camera mount was placed below the frame (I assume for shipping) and caused a vibration in the camera. The gimbal was released and no more problems.
